Think of the 4x4 front end as a short list of parts that all have to stay tight. A solid Dana Super 60 axle sits on coil springs. Two long radius arms locate it front to back, and a track bar running to the frame locates it side to side. Around that you have upper and lower ball joints, tie-rod ends, sway-bar end links and the coil springs themselves. Those are the wear parts on this truck. The rear is simpler: leaf springs over the axle, which is where helper springs and traction bars do their work. The 6.7L Powerstroke trucks share this front layout with every 2005-2016 4x4 Super Duty, so a lot of the parts on this page list wide year ranges.
What wears out first
The track bar ball joint and bushings top the list. When they loosen, the axle loses its side-to-side location, and that is the root of death wobble: a violent shake after a bump at speed, or a shimmy under load. The radius-arm frame bushings are next. They crack and separate with miles, which brings clunks over bumps and under braking, wander and uneven tire wear. Ball joints and tie-rod ends wear and let play into the wheel. Owners report ball joints on some 2011 F-250s, with the shake returning when the track bar was ignored. Wear can reach the track bar itself, too: replacement track bar ball joints come in a .006-inch oversize for worn receptacles.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
If the track bar itself is sound, fresh bushings may be all it needs, and the SPE Motorsport bushing kit comes with or without a removal tool. If the bar is worn or you want adjustment, a heavy-duty adjustable track bar goes after the death-wobble root cause instead of masking it. Out back, traction bars tie the rear axle to the frame so the leaf springs do not wrap up under a heavy load or a hard launch. Air Lift helper springs add adjustable air support at the rear for towing and hauling. After any radius arm or tie-rod work, get an alignment.

Fitment notes
Read the drivetrain in each title. Front parts for 4x4 trucks fit the 2005-2016 Super 60 and radius-arm design and will not fit a 4x2 truck, which uses Twin-I-Beam. Left and right radius arms are different parts. Shocks are split front and rear and 2WD and 4WD, and one Bilstein rear shock is listed for the F-350 single-rear-wheel truck only. The BDS sway bar link kit is meant for a 4-inch lift, not a stock-height truck. Verify by VIN if you are not sure.
Frequently asked questions
Should I replace the whole track bar or just the bushings?
If the bar is straight and its joint end is not worn out, a bushing kit can bring it back. If the ball joint or its receptacle is worn, or you have already chased death wobble once, a heavy-duty adjustable track bar is the more lasting fix. Either way, check the ball joints and tie-rod ends while you are under there.
Will a new steering stabilizer stop my death wobble?
Not for long. The stabilizer only masks the shake. The usual cause is a worn track bar ball joint or bushings, helped along by worn radius-arm bushings, ball joints and tie-rod ends. Fix those first.
Do I need an alignment after replacing these parts?
After radius arm or tie-rod work, always. A caster kit changes front-end geometry by design, so follow it with an alignment too. Uneven tire wear after any front-end job is a sign the alignment is off.
Why do so many of these parts list 2005-2016 fitment?
The 4x4 front suspension on these trucks, the Super 60 axle with radius arms and a track bar, is the same design Ford used from 2005 through 2016. The frame and most chassis parts also carried over from 2011 to 2016. Still check the drivetrain and truck model in every title.
