Call or Text (352) 722-5295Rear sway bars on the 2011-2014 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
The rear of these trucks is leaf-sprung, over a Sterling 10.5 axle on single-rear-wheel trucks or a Dana 80 on duallies. Ford's Camper Package (option 471) added a rear stabilizer bar on SRW trucks, along with increased-capacity front springs and, on the F-250, rear auxiliary springs. So whether your truck has a rear bar can come down to how it was optioned. The bar connects to the chassis through end links, and sway-bar end links are on the list of normal wear parts for this chassis, alongside the track bar, radius-arm bushings, ball joints and tie-rod ends.
When you need the BDS link kit
The BDS Suspension rear sway bar link kit is built to go with a 4-inch lift on 4WD Powerstroke trucks, and it is listed for 2000-2016 7.3L, 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L trucks. Lifting a truck changes the distance between the axle and the frame, so links sized for stock height no longer fit the job. If you are running one of the BDS 4-inch lift kits from our lift kit page, this is the piece that keeps your rear bar connected. On a stock-height truck, this is not the kit you want. The 6.7L Powerstroke trucks ride on an updated version of the 1999 Super Duty frame, which helps explain why the listed range reaches back to 2000.
Fitment notes
Confirm three things before you order: your truck is 4WD, it has a rear sway bar, and it is lifted about 4 inches. If any answer is no, call us first. Verify by VIN if you are unsure how the truck was optioned.
Frequently asked questions
Does my 2011-2014 Super Duty have a rear sway bar?
Maybe. Ford's Camper Package (option 471) added a rear stabilizer bar on single-rear-wheel trucks, so look under the rear axle or give us your VIN. If there is no bar back there, you do not need this kit.
Do I need new rear sway bar links after a lift?
If you lift the truck and keep the rear bar, the links need to suit the new height. The BDS kit here is made for a 4-inch lift on 4WD trucks. For other heights or other brands of lift, call the shop and we will help you sort it out.
Are sway bar end links a wear item?
Yes. On this chassis, sway-bar end links sit on the same wear list as the track bar, radius-arm bushings, ball joints and tie-rod ends. If you are in there replacing one, look at the others.
