Call or Text (352) 722-5295Traction bars on the 2011-2014 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Every 2011-2014 Super Duty pickup with the 6.7L Power Stroke rides on rear leaf springs. F-250 and single-rear-wheel F-350 trucks use a Sterling 10.5 in axle, while the F-350 dually and the 2011-2014 F-450 pickup use a Dana 80. A traction bar adds a fixed link between that axle and the frame. The springs still carry the weight; the bar handles the twisting force. That is the whole job, which is why bar length, bracket design and the bushings or heim joints at each end matter more than the name on the box. Trucks built with the Camper Package (option 471) also got a rear stabilizer bar on single-rear-wheel models and rear auxiliary springs on the F-250, so look at what already hangs under your rear axle before you order.
Choosing a kit
This collection gives you two routes. A complete kit is sold as a package for a specific truck. A build-your-own setup starts with universal bars, then adds a bracket kit and replacement ends. The complete kit is the simple call for most owners. The universal route makes sense when you already have brackets on the truck, are refreshing a worn set, or want to choose the parts yourself.
What we carry
Wehrli Custom Fabrication (WCFab) covers both routes: the WCF100399 68 in traction bar kit listed for 2011-2024 6.7L Power Stroke trucks, the WCF100839 universal 68 in traction bars, the WCF100842 Ford, Dodge and universal bracket and hardware install kit, and the WCF207-26 bushings and heims for servicing the ends. BDS Suspension sells its Recoil traction bar kit in long-bed and short-bed 4WD versions, with the long-bed kit listed for 2011-2016 6.7L Powerstroke trucks.
Fitment notes
Bed length is the first split. On 2011-2014 trucks the short bed is the 6.75 ft box on the SuperCab 141.8 in and Crew Cab 156.2 in wheelbases, and the long bed is the 8 ft box on the Regular Cab, the SuperCab 158.0 in and the Crew Cab 172.4 in. The BDS kits are listed for 4WD trucks, so a 4x2 owner should check the WCFab listing or call us. If you have leveled the front or added a rear block kit, which some F-250 owners do to take out factory rake, set the bars up at the truck's final ride height. Verify fitment by VIN with the checker on each product page.
Frequently asked questions
Which BDS kit fits my Super Duty?
Match bed length first. BDS offers its Recoil kit in a long-bed 4WD version listed for 2011-2016 6.7L Powerstroke trucks and a short-bed 4WD version. On a 2011-2014 truck, the short bed is the 6.75 ft box and the long bed is the 8 ft box.
Can I rebuild worn traction bar ends instead of replacing the kit?
On WCFab bars, yes. The WCF207-26 set supplies the bushings and heims, so the bars and brackets you already have stay in service. If brackets are bent or missing, add the WCF100842 install kit.
What is the difference between the WCFab kit and the universal bars?
Both use a 68 in bar. The WCF100399 kit is listed specifically for 2011-2024 6.7L Power Stroke trucks. The WCF100839 universal bars are meant to be paired with a bracket kit such as the WCF100842, which suits owners building or refreshing their own setup.
