Call or Text (352) 722-5295Shocks on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Ford fitted 1.38-inch gas shocks at all four corners of these 6.7L Powerstroke Super Dutys. Up front they work with coil springs, on a solid twin-coil monobeam axle on 4x4 trucks or Twin-I-Beam on 4x2 trucks. In back they ride beside leaf springs on a solid axle. FX4 Off-Road trucks, which are 4x4 only and not offered on the F-450, left the factory on Rancho shocks instead. The 2015 F-450 pickup got its own shocks as part of a chassis update that also brought new rear leaf springs and new stabilizer bars.
Shocks and the front-end shake
On a 4x4 the shocks are not the only thing controlling the front axle. Radius arms and a track bar locate it, and the steering linkage moves with it. One 2016 F-250 owner reported 'death wobble' to NHTSA, a violent shake at highway speed after a bump. It is a single complaint, but it lines up with the ball joint, track bar, tie rod and steering damper wear the aftermarket targets on 2005-2016 coil-sprung Super Dutys. If your truck does that, have those parts checked before you count on shocks to cure it. If you run an aftermarket Icon FSD 2.5 Centerline steering stabilizer, check recall campaign 20E090 for possible steering lock-up.

Fitment notes
Match three things on every listing: front or rear, 2WD or 4WD, and model. Many shocks here carry wide year spans back to 1999 or 2005, but shocks are more year-specific than lift and leveling hardware, so read the years on the exact part you pick. Some listings name a model, like the F-350 SRW rear shock or the F-250 4WD coil springs; check those against your door sticker. On an F-450 pickup, confirm fitment line by line. The 2017-and-later aluminum trucks are a different fitment. Verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Do 2WD and 4WD Super Dutys use the same front shock?
No. A 4x2 truck runs Twin-I-Beam up front and a 4x4 runs a solid axle on coils with radius arms and a track bar, and the two front ends share nothing. That is why Bilstein lists separate 2WD and 4WD front shocks here. The rear shocks are split by drivetrain too, so check both ends of the truck.
My FX4 came with Rancho shocks. Which listings should I look at?
FX4 is a 4x4-only package that added Rancho shocks, skid plates and Hill Descent Control, so the 4WD front and rear listings for your model are the place to start. If you are not sure which listing matches, call with your VIN and we will check the part numbers for you.
Will new shocks stop a hard shake after a bump?
Not necessarily. That kind of violent highway-speed shake, reported to NHTSA on a 2016 F-250, points to ball joints, track bar, tie rods and steering damper first. Have the front end inspected, and replace worn shocks along with the problem parts while the truck is apart. Track bars and bushing kits are in our suspension components collection.
Do the Bilstein B12 coil springs fit an F-350?
The B12 front coil springs here are listed for the 2005-2016 F-250 4WD, for a 2-inch lift. Diesel and gas Super Dutys take different coil springs, and trucks with the Heavy-Service Front Suspension or Camper Package came with upgraded front springs, so tell us your model and packages before you order. The BDS 1-inch coil spacer is listed for 2005-2016 diesel 4WD trucks.
