Call or Text (352) 722-5295Shocks on the 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke
A 4x4 Powerstroke F-250 or F-350 from these years runs coil springs on a Dana 60 front monobeam and Hotchkiss leaf springs longer than 66 inches out back, with a shock at each corner. The front axle is also located by radius arms and a track bar. The wear list on this chassis is track-bar bushings, radius-arm bushings, ball joints, end links and the steering damper, so if you are chasing clunk, wander or wobble, check all of those, not just the shocks.
Choosing a Bilstein series
Bilstein's B6 4600, B8 5100 and B8 5160 series are all here. Choose by how the truck sits and how you use it. A truck at factory height wants a shock built for factory height. A leveled or lifted truck wants one sized for the new height, and the well-worn path on these trucks pairs a level or lift with matched shocks. Each title lists front or rear, and most list the drivetrain; confirm the length suits your ride height before ordering. The BDS 1-inch leveling coil spacer is here too if you're adding a small level at the same time.
What we carry
Bilstein B8 5100 shocks front and rear for 2WD and 4WD, B8 5160 shocks front and rear for 4WD, B6 4600 shocks front and rear for 2WD and 4WD, and a 4600 series rear shock built for the F-350 SRW. BDS Suspension adds a 1-inch leveling coil spacer for 2005-2016 4WD trucks.
Fitment notes
Match three things: front or rear, 2WD or 4WD, and model. Some shocks list 1999-2016 fitment and some start at 2005, so make sure your year falls inside the range. Many F-250 and F-350 parts do not fit the wide-track F-450 and F-550 front end. Verify by VIN or use the fitment checker on the product page.
Frequently asked questions
Will new shocks cure death wobble on my 2008-2010 F-250?
Don't count on it. Death wobble on these trucks traces to worn track-bar or steering parts and short caster. Check the track-bar bushings, radius-arm bushings, ball joints, end links and steering damper, and correct caster if the truck has been leveled. Fresh shocks are worth doing in the same visit, but the fix lives in the front-end parts.
Do 2WD and 4WD trucks use different shocks?
Yes. The titles here split front and rear shocks by 2WD and 4WD, and the B8 5160 series is listed for 4WD only. Check your VIN or call us if you're not sure how your truck was built.
Are the shocks sold front and rear together?
Each shock here is listed for one end of the truck, so add front and rear separately. Check the product page for the quantity included before you check out.
