2010-2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins Gauges & Monitors

This page collects the digital monitors and add-on sensors we carry for the 2010-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins. A plug-in monitor reads what the engine computer already reports through the OBD-II port, without touching the calibration or the emissions equipment. The one thing to know before you buy: what you can display depends on your model year.

Digital monitors on the 2010-2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins

Every 2010-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins is an OBD-II CAN truck. That means a plug-in monitor can pull engine data, DPF and regeneration status, and transmission data from the diagnostic port. The numbers worth watching on this engine are exhaust gas temperature (EGT), boost, DPF soot load, regen status, automatic transmission fluid temperature and, on 2013-2018 pickups, DEF level. A dedicated display puts those where you can read them at a glance.

The platform changed in the middle of this run, and a monitor shows it. The 2010-2012 pickups clean their exhaust with cooled EGR, a DOC, a NOx adsorber catalyst and a DPF, and they use the Holset HE351VE variable-geometry turbo. For 2013, Ram added SCR with DEF to the pickups, switched to the Holset HE300VG and put the Aisin AS69RC six-speed behind the 3500 High Output engine. Standard-output automatics use the 68RFE. On every year the DPF cleans itself through active regeneration with post-injected fuel, so regen status is a readout you will actually use.

Why owners add a monitor

A monitor does not fix anything. It shows you what the truck is doing so you can decide what to do about it. Pulling a heavy trailer up a long grade, you watch EGT and transmission fluid temperature as they climb instead of guessing. Around town, you can see when the DPF is in an active regeneration and how much soot the filter is carrying. On 2013-2018 trucks, DEF level is one more number on the same screen.

The factory screen has its own issues. Uconnect 8.4 arrived on upper trims with the 2013 redesign, and owners of 2016 and newer trucks report 5-10 minute radio startup delays and camera dropouts. 2018 trucks also had a backup camera mirror recall (18V-398). A separate monitor keeps your engine readouts independent of the head unit.

Stock gauges vs. an add-on monitor

For an empty truck on a short commute, the stock gauges cover the basics. If you tow, haul or just want to understand how often your truck regens, a monitor is the step up. The Edge Insight CTS3 reads OBD-II data on its own. If you want a sensor of your own on top of that, Edge's EAS add-ons bring in a dedicated EGT kit or a 0-100 PSI pressure sensor. Everything here is a monitor, a monitor accessory or a mount. Nothing in this collection retunes the engine.

What we carry

Every product in this collection comes from Edge Products:

  • Insight CTS3 (84130-3): a universal OBD-II monitor, the display itself.
  • EAS EGT Kit (98620): Edge's Daily Driver/Tow kit for an exhaust gas temperature reading.
  • EAS Pressure Sensor (98607): a 0-100 PSI sensor for an extra pressure channel.
  • A-Pillar Display Mount (38602): listed for the 2010-2018 6.7L Cummins Ram.

If you already know what you need, the monitors, accessories and mounts each have their own collection for this truck.

Fitment notes

Parameter availability varies by year. Ram pickups did not get DEF until 2013, so DEF readouts apply to 2013-2018 trucks only, and you should confirm the soot and regen parameters for your exact year. The Insight CTS3 is a universal OBD-II unit; the A-pillar mount is specific to this generation of Ram. The 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs share the engine but use different frames and exhaust routing, so verify chassis-cab fitment separately. When in doubt, send us the VIN.

Frequently asked questions

Does a plug-in monitor change how my 6.7L runs?

No. A monitor like the Insight CTS3 reads data from the OBD-II port and displays it. It does not change the engine calibration or touch the emissions equipment. It shows you the numbers; it does not change them.

Can my 2011 Ram 2500 show DEF level?

No. Ram pickups did not get SCR and DEF until the 2013 model year, and your 2011 uses a NOx adsorber catalyst instead. Soot and regen readouts depend on what your year reports, so confirm those parameters for your truck before you buy.

Why add the EAS EGT kit to a monitor?

It gives your Edge display a dedicated exhaust gas temperature reading, and EGT is one of the numbers that matters most on a 6.7L that works for a living. Edge sells this one as its Daily Driver/Tow kit. Installation follows Edge's instructions, and we can do it in our bays in Wildwood, FL.

Will the A-pillar mount fit my 2015 Laramie?

Edge lists the 38602 mount for 2010-2018 6.7L Cummins Rams, so a 2015 falls inside that range. Run your exact truck through the fitment checker on the product page, and call us if anything about your cab does not line up.
