The Edge Products 98620 EAS EGT Kit, Edge's Daily Driver/Tow Kit, puts exhaust gas temperature on the Edge monitor on your dash. It includes the EAS Starter Cable, EGT probe, manifold fitting and wiring. Edge calls it its most popular EAS accessory, built so the average diesel truck owner can keep an eye on EGTs.
Fitment
The 98620 is not tied to a truck year or engine. It is part of Edge's EAS accessory system, which adds readings to a CS2, CTS2 or CTS3 monitor that the monitor can't get from the OBD-II port alone. The monitor is not part of this kit. The probe mounts in the exhaust manifold, and most applications will require the manifold be drilled and tapped to 1/8-NPT. Look at your manifold before you order. If you want a second set of eyes on it, call us with your year, engine and VIN.
Why this part
Edge named this the Daily Driver/Tow Kit, and that is who it is for: owners who want exhaust gas temperatures on screen while they drive and tow. The reading is only as good as the probe location. Edge says the external temperature probe must be installed in the exhaust manifold for the most accurate temperature readings, and the closer to the combustion chamber, the better. Once the probe is in, your EGTs show up on your in-cabin device along with the other readings the monitor shows. Edge monitors let you set your own alerts, so the screen can warn you instead of you staring at a number all day.

Installation notes
The wiring is plug and play through the EAS system, and the kit includes the EAS Starter Cable. The probe is the real work. Most applications will require the manifold be drilled and tapped to 1/8-NPT, and the bit and tap are not included, so have them on hand before you start. Put the probe in the exhaust manifold, as close to the combustion chamber as you can, for the most accurate readings. If you would rather not drill your own manifold, our Wildwood, Florida shop installs what we sell.
