A calibration job on this truck has three layers. First is the hardware that connects to the truck. Second is FCA's Security Gateway Module, which decides whether that hardware may write; a tool that cannot pass it fails to write even though it still reads normally. Third is the calibration file itself. A 2019-2020 truck that received the Y78 recall runs a CP3 calibration, not the CP4.2 calibration it left the factory with. Standard-output trucks with the 68RFE and high-output 3500s with the Aisin AS69RC use different TCM strategies. Get either detail wrong and the file does not belong on the truck.
What to watch for
Added power speeds up wear on the 68RFE overdrive clutch and torque converter and puts more workload on the VGT vanes and actuator; transmission slip and turbo codes are the signs. A logging tool lets you see how the truck behaves before and after any change. On this engine, a weakening exhaust brake is also worth noting, since it is an early turbo-vane symptom.

Fitment notes
Check model years on each listing: the ECM covers 2019-2021 and the switch bracket runs through 2022. Confirm your pump, output rating and transmission before ordering calibration content. Every 2019-2024 6.7L Cummins pickup has EGR, a DOC, a DPF and SCR with DEF, and all of it has to stay in working order. Verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Is a custom tune emissions-compliant on a 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L?
We have not confirmed a CARB Executive Order for any flash calibration or tuner on this engine. A custom calibration without an EO is not a compliant option, so ask for the EO number before anything goes on a street truck.
When would I need the Mopar CM2450 ECM?
When the original module on a 2019-2021 truck needs replacing. A new module still needs the right calibration for your pump, output rating and transmission, so have that lined up before it goes in.
Should I choose the MPVI4 or the AutoCal V3?
They fit different workflows. The MPVI4 works with HP Tuners software on a laptop, while the EFI Live AutoCal V3 is a standalone device that carries files from your calibration provider and logs data. Buy the one your calibration provider supports.
