Ram's Security Gateway Module arrived on 2018 and newer trucks. It lets tools read codes and data, but it blocks write and flash commands unless the tool is authorized. A tool that cannot pass it simply fails to write, which owners usually see as a tuner that 'cannot connect'. That makes access the first question on any calibration job: an interface or device whose software supports your model year, or, if the factory module has failed, a replacement module. The second question is the file. 2019-2020 trucks that went through the Y78 recall run a CP3 calibration, and standard-output (68RFE) and high-output (Aisin) trucks use different TCM strategies.

Fitment notes
Check model years on each listing before ordering. We have not confirmed a CARB EO calibration for this engine, and the truck's EGR, DOC, DPF and SCR systems have to stay in working order with any file loaded. Verify by VIN.

What is the difference between the RTD4 and the MPVI4?
The MPVI4 is the interface for HP Tuners software running on a laptop. The RTD4 is HP Tuners' remote tuning device, built for owners who receive files from a calibration provider rather than editing them. Pick the one your calibration provider works with.
Does the no-drill DSP switch bracket fit my 2023 Ram?
The Calibrated Power bracket is listed for 2006-2022 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins trucks. For a 2023 or 2024 truck, call with your VIN before ordering so we can check fitment.
Why does my tuner read codes but refuse to flash?
That is the Security Gateway Module at work. Reads pass normally, but tools that are not authorized simply fail to write. Check that your device and software support authorized access for your model year.
