The HP Tuners MPVI4 (SKU HPT-MPVI4) is HP Tuners' newest-generation tuning and data logging interface. It plugs into your OBDII port, works with VCM Suite 5.2+, and runs a dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and Bluetooth v5.2. Buy it when you want one interface that logs and tunes your truck and the other vehicles in your garage.
Fitment
The MPVI4 isn't built for one truck. HP Tuners says it's compatible with thousands of years, makes, and models, from late-model muscle and daily drivers to trucks and powersports. What it can actually tune comes down to your vehicle's controller, and every controller has to be licensed with credits. HP Tuners lists these compatibility requirements:
- Works with VCM Suite 5.2+
- Compatible with PROLINK+ and comes standard with the Pro Feature Set
- Requires credits to license controllers (varies by make/model). Credits Sold Separately.
- Certain legacy controllers not supported at this time (e.g., Ford EEC-V, Mopar NGC1)
According to HP Tuners, select controllers such as Ford EEC-V, Mopar JTEC, JTEC+, JTEC+B, and NGC3 will be supported in a future update. Until that update lands, don't count on them. Frequently asked questions
Does the MPVI4 come with credits?
No. Credits are sold separately, and the number it takes to license a controller varies by make and model. Call us with your VIN and we'll help you figure out how many you need.
Can I use Wi-Fi right away?
Not yet. HP Tuners lists Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (up to 150Mbps) as available with a future firmware update. The spec sheet lists Bluetooth v5.2 without that caveat, and a USB-C cable comes in the box.
What software does it need?
VCM Suite 5.2 or newer. The MPVI4 is compatible with PROLINK+ and comes standard with the Pro Feature Set, and HP Tuners says its standalone logging is comparable to a wired experience using VCM Scanner.
