Call or Text (352) 722-5295Turbo accessories on the 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins
The turbo is only as good as what feeds it, drains it and seals it. On this engine the service accessories are the actuator, the turbo speed sensor, the oil feed and drain lines and the laminated heat shields that came with the 2019 revision. Oil comes in through the feed line to lubricate the bearings, then drains back to the engine through the drain tube. Gaskets seal the turbo to the manifold and the downstream plumbing, and clamps hold the intake and exhaust connections together. Get any of those wrong and the new turbo pays for it.
What fails and why
Most turbo trouble on this truck starts with coking. Soot and oil bake onto the vane ring and pivots until the vanes stick, and the prevention list is simple: factory oil intervals, a full warm-up before load, an idle-down after hard pulls and regular exhaust brake use. Underboost (P0299) is not always the turbo, either. Boost leaks and a clogged air filter can set it too, which is where a boost tester earns its keep: pressurize the intake side and find the leak before you buy a turbo. Bearing or seal failure, with a whine, blue or gray smoke and shaft play, is less common but means the cartridge is done.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
For a stock HE300VG, buy parts made for this truck: the MAHLE GS34105 mounting gasket set, the Fleece FPE-CRTFL-19 oil feed line and FPE-CTDT-19-KIT drain tube kit, and the BD 1045999 mounting kit are all listed for 2019-2024. Fleece also offers the FPE-CUMM-VGT-INST-KIT-19 installation kit for VGT turbos on this engine. If your turbo uses a T4 or T6 flange, the flange-specific pieces apply: the MAHLE G33430 T4 inlet flange gasket and G32761 T6 flange gasket, the PPE 516002000 T4 oil drain fitting and the T4 and T6 turbo blankets. Match the flange on your turbo before you order.
What we carry
Gaskets come from MAHLE. Oil lines and service kits come from Fleece Performance Engineering, which also lists the FPE-HOL-FD-FIT factory oil feed fitting for Holset turbos and the FPE-351-SP-SEN turbine shaft speed sensor. BD Diesel covers flexible oil drains in 12-in (1453105) and 23-in (1453106) lengths, the full Marmon V-band clamp, an exhaust V-band clamp and high-torque hose clamps. EvilFab offers an oil drain line for 2007.5-2024 trucks. For heat, there are titanium turbo blankets from PPE and Mishimoto, plus a T4 blanket from ATS Diesel Performance. Turbosmart constant tension clamps and the Calibrated Power Solutions Stealth boost tester, HD regulator and inlet adapter round it out. Need the turbo itself? Start at our turbos page.
Fitment notes
Year ranges vary on this page, so read them. The Fleece speed sensor and drain service kit are listed through 2022, the factory feed fitting covers 1994-2022 Holset applications, and the BD flexible drains cover 2003-2024 Cummins. Check the title before you add a part to the cart. If you are replacing the actuator, plan for the relearn. And if you are not sure whether your truck has the standard-output or high-output engine, check first: sales code ETM marks high output and ETL standard output.
Frequently asked questions
Should I replace the oil feed and drain lines with a new turbo?
They are the standard service items around this turbo, and the turbo lives on the oil they carry. Fleece makes a feed line (FPE-CRTFL-19) and drain tube kit (FPE-CTDT-19-KIT) for 2019-2024, so it is an easy add while the turbo is off.
What is the boost tester for?
Finding leaks. The Calibrated Power Solutions Stealth boost tester, with the HD regulator and the inlet adapter for S300, S400, S400R and S500 turbos, lets you pressurize the intake side and listen for leaks. An underboost code like P0299 can come from a boost leak or a clogged air filter, not just the turbo.
Do I need to do anything after replacing the turbo actuator?
Yes. Actuator replacement on this turbo needs a relearn. If you do not have a scan tool that can run it, plan the job around a shop that can.
