Call or Text (352) 722-5295Transmission parts for the 2019-2024 RAM 6.7L Cummins
The 68RFE wear list is short and well documented: the overdrive clutch pack, the accumulator plate and valve body, and the torque converter clutch. It runs on ATF+4 with two filters, a sump filter (Mopar 5013470AE) and an external spin-on (5015267AD). The Aisin AS69RC behind the high-output 6.7L Cummins is a different animal. Its solenoids are only sold with the valve body, the K1 clutch drum snap ring is the part named in its TSB, and it takes sump filter 68224232AA, pan magnet 68019660AA and ASRC fluid, not ATF+4.
Where these parts earn their keep
When the 68RFE accumulator plate warps or blows out, fluid cross-leaks and you get P0871, harsh shifts and limp mode. A slipping converter clutch adds shudder at 40-50 mph and spreads debris through the transmission. Upgraded accumulator plates and valve-body parts are here to stop that cross-leak. Heat is the other enemy. BD Diesel ties most Aisin failures to converter-clutch slip plus heat, and a deeper pan adds fluid volume and cooling. Coolers, thermal bypass valves and deep pans all go after the same problem from different angles.
What we carry
- Pans: cast aluminum pans from PPE for both the 68RFE and the AS69RC, the XDP XD452 extra-deep 68RFE pan, a Mishimoto cast aluminum 68RFE pan and a Mag-Hytec 68RFE pan.
- Gaskets and filters: PPE pan gaskets for the 68RFE and AS69RC, the MAHLE W32771 68RFE gasket, PPE pan and spin-on filters, and a BD Diesel filter service kit.
- Fluid: Hot Shot's Secret Blue Diamond and Adrenaline fluids, Shift Restore additive and Lucas Oil multi-vehicle ATF.
- Cooling: Mishimoto direct-fit and universal coolers, BD Xtruded coolers and a cooler fan, a PPE bar-and-plate cooler, and thermal bypass valves from Mishimoto, PPE, BD and ATS Diesel Performance.
- Internals: ATS and BD billet input shafts, BD Big Stack overdrive shaft kits and a Stage 3 build-it kit with PROTECT68, plus ATS billet channel plates, accumulator parts and separator plate gaskets.
- Also here: an Anchor transmission mount and parts from AFE.
Fitment notes
68RFE and AS69RC parts do not cross over, and that includes pans and gaskets. Sales code DF2 on the build sheet means you have the Aisin. Many 68RFE parts here are listed for 2007.5-2024, so they fit earlier trucks too, and a few listings start earlier or stop short of 2024, so read the year range on each one. The PPE high-efficiency spin-on filter is listed for trucks running PPE's deep pan.
Frequently asked questions
Which pan gasket fits my truck?
It depends on the gearbox. PPE sells separate gaskets for the 68RFE and the AS69RC, and the MAHLE W32771 is a 68RFE gasket. For cross-reference, the factory Aisin pan gasket is Mopar 68214914AA.
Is a deep transmission pan worth it?
If you tow, it is worth a look. A deeper pan adds fluid volume, and finned designs add cooling. BD Diesel names heat as a root of most Aisin failures, so holding temperatures down matters. Just match the filter to the pan you choose.
What fluid does my transmission take?
The 68RFE takes ATF+4. The Aisin AS69RC takes Mopar ASRC fluid, 5189977AB, and should never get ATF+4. Service intervals differ as well: 120,000 miles normal or 60,000 severe on the 68RFE, and 30,000 miles or 24 months on the Aisin.
