Call or Text (352) 722-5295Mufflers on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Exhaust on the 6.7L Powerstroke passes through the DOC, the SCR catalyst and a silicon-carbide DPF before it reaches the tailpipe. That assembly stays on the truck and does most of the work of quieting it. A muffler or resonator from this page goes in the piping behind it, so you're changing the sound, not the aftertreatment. The Banks Monster 49795 DPF-back, for example, is a straight-through 5-inch system.
Choosing a muffler
Diameter comes first. MBRP's universal 409 stainless mufflers come in 4-inch and 5-inch, and the Quiet Tone mufflers come as a 4-inch universal and a 5-inch Armor Lite. The Armor Plus GP290022 is a 5-inch high-flow muffler. If you want to take the edge off without a full muffler, MBRP's diesel resonators come in aluminized or stainless, and the Armor Lite M20681 is a resonator muffler. The Quiet Tone name tells you what MBRP built those models for.
Universal fit: what it means
Most of the mufflers on this page are universal, which means they're sold by diameter rather than by truck. They aren't bolt-on kits for your Super Duty. You or your installer size the muffler to the tubing, place it in the system and clamp or weld it in. We install everything we sell, so if you'd rather have it done in our Wildwood, FL shop, give us a call.
What we carry
This page is all MBRP: universal 4-inch and 5-inch 409 stainless mufflers, 4-inch and 5-inch Quiet Tone mufflers, the Armor Plus 5-inch high-flow muffler, the Armor Lite resonator muffler and diesel resonators in aluminized or stainless. For complete DPF-back systems and tips, see the exhaust category.
Fitment notes
Match the muffler to your tubing diameter. On this platform, clamps, hangers and fittings have to match the tubing they go on, and a muffler sized for a 4-inch filter-back won't drop into a 5-inch system without adapters. Chassis cabs route their exhaust differently, so measure before you buy. If you're unsure what you have, measure your tailpipe or call us.
Frequently asked questions
Will adding a muffler affect my DPF or SCR?
No. The mufflers here go in the piping behind the factory DPF and SCR, which stay in place. That assembly already handles most of the sound damping, so the muffler only changes the tone.
Do I need a muffler with a DPF-back system?
Not necessarily. Because the factory DPF and SCR quiet the truck, a muffler is something you add for tone rather than something the system needs. Some DPF-back systems, like the Banks 49795, are straight-through 5-inch designs.
Should I get a 4-inch or 5-inch muffler?
Match it to your tubing. A 4-inch filter-back system takes a 4-inch muffler, and a 5-inch system such as MBRP's 5-inch filter-back kits takes a 5-inch muffler. MBRP offers both sizes in universal 409 stainless and in Quiet Tone versions.
