The MBRP Diesel Resonator is a high-flow 4" resonator that helps reduce the drone a 4" performance exhaust can put into the cab. It comes in stainless steel or aluminized steel, and its compact design lets it go in with virtually any system on the market. Owners buy it to lower the sound level without losing the sound quality.

Fitment

This resonator is universal. It is not tied to a make or model year; it is built for 4" performance exhaust systems, and its compact design lets it install with virtually any system on the market. Because it is a 4" part, it is the wrong size for a 5" system. Measure your tubing and find a straight section with room for it before you order. Two part numbers cover the two materials, R2009 and R1009; pick stainless steel or aluminized from the options. To confirm it suits your truck, verify by VIN or call us.

Why this part

A 4" performance exhaust can bring an annoying resonance into the cab. That interior drone is what this part is built to take the edge off. The MBRP resonator is high flow, so it helps reduce that interior resonance without compromising performance. The aim is to reduce the sound level, not the sound quality.

Pick the material by where you drive. Aluminized steel suits dry climates, while MBRP's stainless tiers hold up where road salt or brine is used. Find more exhaust parts for the rest of your system.

About MBRP

MBRP started in 1996 in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, and designs its own exhaust systems, mufflers, downpipes, up-pipes and tips. In the diesel world it is known for 4" and 5" truck systems for Cummins, Duramax and Powerstroke, built in material tiers that run from aluminized steel up to T304 stainless.

Frequently asked questions

Will a resonator make my truck quiet?

It is meant to take the edge off, not silence the truck. It helps reduce drone and lowers the sound level while keeping the sound quality of your 4" performance system.

Will it fit with my exhaust system?

It is built for 4" performance systems, and MBRP kept it compact so it installs with virtually any system on the market. Check that you have a straight run of 4" pipe for it, or call us with your VIN.

Should I choose stainless or aluminized?

Both are offered. Stainless is the better fit if your roads see salt or brine in winter; aluminized suits dry climates. Either way, the resonator carries a 1 Year manufacturer warranty.
