Call or Text (352) 722-5295Oil pans on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
The 6.7L Powerstroke holds 13.0 quarts with the filter, picked up by a gerotor oil pump in the front cover. The factory setup uses an upper and a lower oil pan, which is why this collection carries separate upper and lower gaskets. The pan is also where every oil change starts. On this engine the common recommendation is a 5,000-mile interval because DPF regeneration can dilute the oil with fuel, so the drain plug and its threads get a lot of use.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
If the factory lower pan is damaged, the Dorman 264-452 is a replacement lower pan listed for 2011-2024. For resealing, MAHLE supplies the OS32438 lower pan gasket and the OS32478 upper pan gasket set, and SPE Motorsport has its S100467 upper pan gasket. If you'd rather step up from the factory pan, look at the PPE 314052100 heavy-duty cast aluminum pan, the AFE 46-70322 Pro Series pan, the Mag-Hytec F6.7L pan, the No Limit Fabrication 67OP billet pan or SPE's own oil pan.
Drain plugs and hardware
A magnetic drain plug holds ferrous wear particles where you can see them at each change. Here that means the Mishimoto MMODP-1415B, listed for 2012-2016 6.7L engines, and SPE's S100377. SPE also makes the S100123 billet stainless steel drain plug. XDP's XD622 is a black-phosphate oil pan bolt kit. The ATS Diesel Performance 402-009-1000 drain plug is made for ATS pans and differential covers, so buy it as a spare for those parts.
Fitment notes
Most pans here are listed from 2011 on, while the upper gaskets are listed for 2015-2019. Check each product's year range against your truck before you order, and verify by VIN when you're unsure.
Frequently asked questions
Which oil pan gaskets fit a 2015-2016 6.7L Powerstroke?
For the lower pan, the MAHLE OS32438 is listed for 2011-2022 engines. For the upper pan, the MAHLE OS32478 set and the SPE S100467 are both listed for 2015-2019, so check the year range before reusing a part number from an older truck.
Is a magnetic drain plug worth adding?
It gives you a quick look at ferrous wear particles at every oil change, and on this engine the recommended interval is 5,000 miles, so you'll look often. It doesn't replace oil analysis, which is the way to catch fuel dilution early.
