2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Gauges & Monitors

Digital monitors, sensor add-ons and display mounts for the 2015-2016 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty with the 6.7L Powerstroke. The one thing to know before you shop: the readings worth watching on this engine are exhaust gas temperature, coolant temperature and boost, especially if you tow heavy or run a compliant tuner that pulls power back as coolant heats up.

Digital monitors on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

2015 is the year Ford reworked the 6.7L without touching the body. Output climbed to 440 hp and 860 lb-ft, the DualBoost turbo gave way to a larger Garrett GT3788V variable-geometry unit, and Ford added a new exhaust temperature sensor. The cab around all of that stayed the 2011-2016 design. From the factory, single-rear-wheel trucks have a 4.2-inch LCD productivity screen with an off-road display for pitch, bank angle and wheel direction, plus a pre-towing checklist, and upper trims could carry the 8-inch MyFord Touch screen. The diesel also comes standard with operator-commanded exhaust filter regeneration and an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor. An aftermarket monitor plugs into the OBD-II port and puts the live numbers you choose right where you can read them.

What a monitor watches for on this truck

The research for this platform found no monitor-specific trouble pattern, so this isn't about a part that fails. The reason to add a monitor is what it watches. The documented need on the 2015-2016 6.7L is keeping an eye on exhaust gas temperature, coolant temperature and boost. One compliant tuner for this engine tapers power at 230 degrees F coolant temperature and shuts off at 240 degrees F, so if you're pulling a long grade with it installed, a coolant readout tells you why the truck just softened up. A gauge doesn't fix anything. It tells you sooner, while you still have time to ease off the throttle or pull over.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

There's no stock part to replace here; the factory screen stays where it is. The choice is what you add on top of it. A universal OBD-II monitor such as the Edge Insight CTS3 reads data straight from the truck's diagnostic port. Some readings call for a physical sensor, and that's where add-on kits come in, like an EGT kit or a 0-100 PSI pressure sensor. Shop in this order: the monitor first, then the sensors that work with it, then a mount that puts the screen where you can see it without looking far from the road.

What we carry

Edge Products makes up most of this page: the Insight CTS3 universal OBD-II monitor (84130-3), the 98620 EAS EGT kit in its Daily Driver/Tow version, the 98607 EAS pressure sensor rated 0-100 PSI, and the 18600 A-pillar display mount listed for 2011-2016 6.7L trucks. SPE Motorsport covers vent mounting with the S200107 Mini Maxx vent mount and the S200121 52 mm vent gauge mount, both listed for 2008-2016 6.4L and 6.7L trucks. No Limit Fabrication adds its Edge Clean Mount for the 6.7L. For the rest of the engine, start at our Powerstroke hub.

Fitment notes

The dash in a 2015-2016 truck is the 2011-2016 design, on a cab that dates back to 1999. The 2017 Super Duty got an all-new cab, so a mount made only for 2017-and-later trucks is not for yours. No 2015-2016-only mount change turned up in our research, and the mounts here list 2011-2016, 2008-2016 or 2013-2019 fitment. If you plan to run a monitor alongside an in-line module, you may need an OBD-II harness or splitter so both can share the port. Check the year range in each title, and verify by VIN if you're unsure.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a monitor if my 6.7L is stock?

You don't need one, but it earns its keep when you tow. The factory screen covers the pre-towing checklist and off-road angles, while an OBD-II monitor shows live EGT, coolant temperature and boost, the readings that matter under load. If the truck regularly pulls a heavy trailer, those are the numbers you want in front of you.

Does a tuner change what I should watch?

Yes. One compliant tuner for this engine tapers power at 230 degrees F coolant and shuts off at 240 degrees F, so coolant temperature becomes the number to watch. If your setup is the Banks Derringer, note that it will not operate without a Banks iDash, so that pair is bought together.

Will a mount from a 2017 Super Duty fit my 2016?

Don't count on it. The 2017 truck has a new cab, and your 2011-2016 interior is a different design. Go by the year range in each product title; the mounts on this page list 2011-2016, 2008-2016 or, for the No Limit Edge Clean Mount, 2013-2019.

Can I run a regen or check oil life without an aftermarket monitor?

Yes. Operator-commanded exhaust filter regeneration and the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor are standard on the 2015-2016 diesel, and the regen command lives on the factory cluster. An aftermarket monitor adds live engine data on top of those features; it doesn't replace them.
