2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Digital Monitors

Digital monitors for the 2015-2016 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty with the 6.7L Powerstroke. The one thing to know: on this engine the readings that earn a spot on your dash are exhaust gas temperature, coolant temperature and boost. Choose a monitor that shows those three clearly at a glance, then add sensors and a mount around it.

Monitors for the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

Your truck carries the second-generation 6.7L: 440 hp and 860 lb-ft, a Garrett GT3788V single variable-geometry turbo in place of the earlier DualBoost unit, and a new exhaust temperature sensor. On single-rear-wheel trucks, Ford's own display is a 4.2-inch LCD productivity screen with an off-road page for pitch, bank angle and wheel direction and a pre-towing checklist, and upper trims could carry the 8-inch MyFord Touch screen. Those are useful tools. A dedicated monitor adds live engine data you pick yourself.

Why owners add a monitor

There's no failure pattern tied to monitors on this truck. The case for one is information. Behind a heavy trailer or with a compliant tuner installed, EGT, coolant temperature and boost tell you how hard the engine is working. One compliant tuner for this engine tapers power at 230 degrees F coolant and shuts off at 240 degrees F, so a coolant readout explains a sudden change in pull before you start guessing at turbo or fuel problems.

What we carry

The monitor on this page is the Edge Products Insight CTS3 (84130-3), sold as a universal OBD-II monitor. Because it reads through the standard diagnostic port, it isn't built around one engine. Edge EAS sensor kits that add readings are on the accessories page for this truck, and display mounts have their own page. For everything else on the engine, start at our Powerstroke hub.

Fitment notes

The monitor connects through the OBD-II port; where it sits is a mount question. Your dash is the 2011-2016 design, and the 2017 Super Duty got a new cab, so a mount made only for 2017-and-later trucks won't fit. Before ordering a mount, check that it lists your monitor. If something else already uses your OBD-II port, such as an in-line module, you may need a harness or splitter so both can connect.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Edge Insight CTS3 specific to the 6.7L?

No. It's sold as a universal OBD-II monitor, so it reads through the standard diagnostic port rather than being built for one engine. Use the fitment checker on the product page to confirm your 2015 or 2016 truck.

What should I set the screen to show first?

Start with EGT, coolant temperature and boost, the readings flagged for this engine. Add others as you learn how the truck behaves. If a reading needs a physical sensor, the add-on kits are on the accessories page.

I run a Banks Derringer. Do I still need this?

The Derringer will not operate without a Banks iDash, so you buy that monitor along with the tuner. A second monitor like the CTS3 is optional. If you want both, call us first so we can check how they'll share the OBD-II port.

Not sure what fits? Call the shop at the number in the header, or use the fitment checker on any product page. We install everything we sell.
