2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Custom Tuning

Custom tuning hardware for the 2015-2016 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke: the interface, tune switch and bracket that go with a calibration written for your truck. The one rule that matters most here: any custom calibration for this engine must keep EGR, DOC, DPF and SCR in place and carry its own CARB EO number.

Custom tuning on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

A custom calibration is written for a specific truck and its setup rather than loaded as a one-size file. On this engine the calibration carries real weight. Ford raised early 2011 trucks to 400 hp and 800 lb-ft with nothing more than a free PCM reflash, and the 2015-2016 trucks came out at 440 hp at 2,800 rpm and 860 lb-ft at 1,600 rpm on a new Garrett GT3788V turbo and new injector nozzles. That is why calibrations here are year-specific. Files for 2015-2016 differ from 2011-2014 and 2017-2019, and the 300 hp chassis-cab engine is its own calibration.

Before you tune

Start with the factory software. Ford issued PCM campaigns on these years, including 15V175 for a false over-temperature shutdown, so confirm your recall software is current before a custom calibration goes in. Then hold the calibration to the compliance line. EGR, the DOC, the DPF and SCR with DEF all stay in place and working, and the calibration needs its own CARB EO number. In EO states, the EO decal is requested from the manufacturer and checked at inspection. Ask your tuner for the EO number for your exact year before anything is loaded.

What we carry

This collection holds the hardware side of custom tuning. The HP Tuners MPVI4 is the vehicle interface. The SPE Motorsport plug-and-play five-position SOFT switch fits 2011-2019 6.7L Powerstroke trucks and lets a calibration written for it switch positions from the cab. The Calibrated Power Solutions DSP switch bracket is a no-drill mount listed for 2011-2022 6.7L trucks. None of these add power on their own. For more, browse the full tuners category.

Fitment notes

Hardware spans wider years than calibrations do, so a switch listed for 2011-2019 still needs a calibration written for 2015-2016. Chassis cab trucks use a different calibration from pickups. Verify by VIN, use the fitment checker on the product page, or call the shop with your year, model and cab.

Frequently asked questions

Can a custom tune on my 2016 F-250 stay emissions-legal?

Only if the calibration keeps EGR, the DOC, the DPF and SCR in place and working and carries its own CARB Executive Order number. In EO states you request the decal from the manufacturer for inspection. Get the EO number from your tuner before anything is loaded.

Can I load a tune written for a 2014 or a 2017?

No. Calibrations on this engine are selected by model year, and 2015-2016 sits between two different ones. The 2015 trucks changed turbos, got new injector nozzles and moved to 440 hp and 860 lb-ft, so a 2011-2014 or 2017-2019 file doesn't match.

Does the five-position switch add power?

No. It is a selector. It only does something when the calibration loaded in the truck is written to read it, and that calibration has to meet the same CARB EO rules as any other. The DSP bracket simply gives a switch a no-drill mount.
