Call or Text (352) 722-5295Intake accessories on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Every intake or boost-tube job on the 6.7L Powerstroke touches small parts. Air comes from the factory airbox, through the valley-mounted turbo and the air-to-water charge-air cooler, then back to the intake through plastic hot and cold tubes. Along the way the engine reads it with a mass air flow sensor, an ambient air temperature sensor, a manifold absolute pressure sensor and an intake/charge air cooler temperature sensor. The tubes join with couplers and clamps, and the throttle body and intake manifolds seal with gaskets. This page holds those pieces.
What fails and why
The documented trouble on 2011-2016 trucks is the plastic boost tubes: the cold side cracks and the hot side can pull off the turbo outlet. That brings a whistling leak, sudden power loss and codes like P0299, P1247 or P0402. When you replace a tube, put fresh couplers and clamps on in the same job. Air filter restriction or soot in the airbox can also bring MAF-related codes, so check the filter before you condemn the sensor.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
For a sensor, stay stock. Alliant Power and XDP make replacement MAF, MAP, AAT and IAT/CACT sensors listed for these trucks. If you run an aftermarket intake, MAP sensor spacer kits and replacement filters are the common add-ons for an S&B-equipped truck. For custom builds, SPE Motorsport sells MAP and IAT sensor bungs, billet intake flanges and a compressor outlet adapter, and BD Diesel offers positive air shutdown valves that close off intake air to stop the engine.
What we carry
From Alliant Power: the AP63524 MAF sensor, AP63545 ambient air temperature sensor, AP63543 MAP sensor and AP63544 intake/charge air cooler temperature sensor. From XDP: the XD1055 MAF sensor, XD1016 MAP sensor and XD459 intercooler adapter O-ring seal. S&B covers the 82-1004 MAP sensor spacer kit, WF-1062 and WF-1031 filter wraps, a 4-inch silicone coupler with clamps and the 88-0008 Precision II cleaning and oil kit for oiled filters. SPE Motorsport adds the S100320 MAP sensor spacer, sensor bungs, billet intake flanges and S100314 intake manifold gaskets. PPE has a MAP sensor relocation spacer, MAHLE has the G32584 throttle body gasket and MS19881 intake manifold gasket set, BD Diesel has positive air shutdowns and high-torque clamps, and Banks Power has a pre-filter wrap for its Ram-Air filters.
Fitment notes
Years vary by part, so read each listing. The Alliant Power MAF and AAT sensors and the XDP MAF are listed 2011-2016, while the MAP and IAT/CACT sensors, MAP spacers and MAHLE gaskets run 2011-2019. Filter wraps must match the filter: S&B lists the WF-1031 for the same truck range as its KF-1050 element, and the Banks wrap is made for Banks filter numbers 42158 and 42188. BD Diesel's E-PAS kit is listed for 2011-2019 Powerstroke trucks; its other shutdowns are sold by pipe size, 3-inch and 3.5-inch. Verify by VIN before you order.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a MAP sensor spacer with an aftermarket intake?
MAP sensor spacer kits are a common add-on for 6.7L trucks running an S&B intake, and S&B, SPE Motorsport and PPE all list one for 2011-2019 trucks. Check the instructions for your intake to see whether it calls for one.
My truck set a MAF code. Is the sensor bad?
Not always. A restricted air filter or soot in the airbox can bring on MAF-related codes, so look at the filter and airbox first. If those are clean and the code returns, the Alliant Power AP63524 and XDP XD1055 are listed for 2011-2016 trucks.
What is a positive air shutdown?
It is a valve in the intake path that closes off the air supply to stop the engine. BD Diesel lists 3-inch and 3.5-inch shutdowns and an E-PAS emergency engine shutdown kit listed for 2011-2019 Powerstroke trucks. Make sure the size matches your intake tube before you order.
