Call or Text (352) 722-5295Exterior parts on the 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins
The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty was a clean-sheet truck, and the body shows it. Ram moved to an aluminum hood about 25 lb lighter than the steel one, cut up to 143 lb overall and built the frame from 98.5% high-strength steel. You can get it as a Regular Cab with an 8-ft box, a Crew Cab with a 6-ft 4-in or 8-ft box, or a Mega Cab, which is a crew cab stretched 11.1 in with a 6-ft 4-in box. The good news for parts shopping: the bed, tailgate and tail lamps interchange across 2019-2024. The 2025 refresh changed the tailgate, bumpers, hood, grille and lamps, so parts for the newer truck do not cross back.
What to check on the body
Before you bolt anything on, run your VIN for open recalls. Three on this generation touch the outside of the truck. Recall 22V-904 covers 2019-2022 tailgates that may not latch because of misaligned strikers, so the gate can pop open while driving. Recall 20V-207 covers the accessory bed step on 2019-2020 2500 and 3500 trucks, which could fail under side loading. Recall 22V-035 covers windshield wiper arms that may loosen on 2019-2020 trucks, and owners also report wipers failing in the rain. None of them involve the parts on this page, but they are worth clearing first, especially on a used truck.
Factory look vs. aftermarket
Ram offered factory side steps, including chrome wheel-to-wheel steps as a 2019 option, and fitted power-deploying running boards to the Laramie Longhorn. A Mopar accessory bed step was available from the factory or dealer as well. If your truck has fixed steps or none at all, AMP Research PowerSteps give you a power board that drops when a door opens and tucks up when it closes. Out back, Big Hitch Products builds a urethane roll pan for the rear of the truck, plus clamp-on sled stops and license plate brackets made to work with it. Keep the factory pieces if they do the job; add these when you want function your truck was not ordered with.
What we carry
Here is what we carry for this truck. AMP Research covers running boards: the PowerStep, PowerStep XL, PowerStep Xtreme and PowerStep Smart Series, with Plug-N-Play versions in the mix. Big Hitch Products covers the rear: the BHP6005 urethane roll pan, BHP3001 clamp-on sled stops that mount behind the roll pan, and the BHP4001 flip-up and BHP4009 license plate brackets. Mishimoto adds the MMLP-RAM-19 license plate relocation kit built for the 2019-2024 truck. For a narrower list, shop the Running Boards and Accessories pages under Exterior.
Fitment notes
Cab length decides running board fitment. The Mega Cab rides a 160.5-in wheelbase, the Crew Cab 149.5 or 169.5 in, and the doors differ in length, so a board built for one cab will not fit another. A 3500 dually body is 96.5 in wide against 83.5 in for a single-rear-wheel truck, and steps, fender flares and mud flaps differ between them. Many listings say Cummins in the title, but exterior parts care about body, cab and bed, not engine, so check the year range on each product. The BHP6005 roll pan, for example, is listed for 2010-2024. When in doubt, send us the VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Do running boards fit every 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500?
No. Boards and steps are cab-specific. The Regular, Crew and Mega Cab have different wheelbases and door lengths, so match the listing to your cab before you order.
Will these exterior parts fit a 2025 Ram?
Do not assume it. The 2025 refresh changed the bumpers, tailgate, hood, grille and lamps, and those panels do not interchange with 2019-2024. Go by the year range on each listing.
My Laramie Longhorn already has power running boards. Do I need a PowerStep?
Probably not. Ram fitted power-deploying running boards to the Laramie Longhorn. A PowerStep makes the most sense on a truck that left the factory with fixed steps or none at all.
Does a dually need different steps?
Yes. The 3500 DRW body is 96.5 in wide versus 83.5 in for a single-rear-wheel truck, and steps, fender flares and mud flaps differ. Tell us SRW or DRW when you call.
Is the Mishimoto plate relocation kit made for this truck?
Yes. The MMLP-RAM-19 is listed for the 2019-2024 Ram with the 6.7L Cummins. Check the listing for which plate it moves and what hardware comes in the box.
