Power running boards for the 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins, all from AMP Research's PowerStep line. The thing to know before ordering: boards are built for a specific cab. Regular, Crew and Mega Cab trucks have different wheelbases and door lengths, so confirm your cab before you pick a part number.

Running boards on the 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins

Ram gave the 2019 Heavy Duty a new interlocking side-step design with a deep tread and an R-A-M logo, and chrome wheel-to-wheel steps were on the 2019 option list. Power-deploying running boards were fitted to the Laramie Longhorn. The idea behind a power board is simple: it stays tucked up against the body while you drive and drops to step height when a door opens. AMP Research's PowerStep line brings that to trucks that were not ordered with it.

Before you buy

Clear open recalls by VIN first. Recall 20V-207 covered the accessory bed step on 2019-2020 2500 and 3500 trucks, which could fail under side loading. That is a bed step, not a running board, but it is worth checking while you are sorting out steps. Then confirm cab and rear-wheel setup. The Mega Cab rides a 160.5-in wheelbase and the Crew Cab 149.5 or 169.5 in, with different door lengths, and a 3500 dually body is 96.5 in wide against 83.5 in for single rear wheels. Steps differ between them.

What we carry

Every board on this page comes from AMP Research. You will find the PowerStep 76239-01A (Plug-N-Play), the PowerStep XL as 77248-01A and as the 77238-01A Plug-N-Play version, the PowerStep Xtreme 78239-01A (Plug-N-Play) and the PowerStep Smart Series 86239-01A. The model families differ in design, so compare the listings side by side and read each one's install notes before you choose.

Fitment notes

Running boards care about cab, wheelbase and body width, not engine. A board built for a Crew Cab will not fit a Mega Cab, and SRW and DRW trucks differ, so have your cab style, box length and rear-wheel setup handy. Go by the year range on each listing rather than the engine in the title. If your Laramie Longhorn already has factory power boards, mention that when you call so we can check fitment against what is on the truck.

Frequently asked questions

Which PowerStep fits a Mega Cab?

Only one built for the Mega Cab. The Mega Cab is a crew cab stretched 11.1 in on a 160.5-in wheelbase, with different door lengths from the Crew Cab, so a Crew Cab board will not line up. Check the cab listed on the product, or send us your VIN.

Which PowerSteps here are the Plug-N-Play versions?

The 76239-01A PowerStep, the 77238-01A PowerStep XL and the 78239-01A PowerStep Xtreme carry the Plug-N-Play label. The 77248-01A PowerStep XL and the 86239-01A Smart Series do not. Read the install notes on each listing for how it connects on your truck.
