Call or Text (352) 722-5295Monitor add-ons for the 2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel
The EcoDiesel's exhaust side does a lot of work. On every year from the 2018 Ram 1500 through the 2023, exhaust passes through a diesel oxidation catalyst and a DPF that cleans itself by active regeneration, then an SCR catalyst dosed with DEF, with exhaust temperature sensors and NOx sensors along the way. Those factory sensors feed the engine computer. What reaches your dash is an exhaust filter fill percentage and DEF countdown warnings. Edge's EAS accessories add sensors of your own and send their readings to the Insight screen, so you see a live number instead of a message.
Why owners add them
Nothing in this collection is a repair part, and these sensors do not fix anything. Their job is information. EcoDiesel owners want eyes on regeneration activity, DEF, exhaust temperature and boost. When they need to chase a problem, they reach for Mopar-capable software such as AlfaOBD to read exhaust-temperature sensor data, force a regen and test the VGT actuator. A permanent EGT probe on the Insight is the day-to-day version of that: a constant temperature reading while you drive, most useful when the truck is loaded or towing.
What we carry
The add-ons here come from Edge Products:
- EAS EGT Kit, Daily Driver/Tow Kit (98620): a dedicated exhaust gas temperature probe kit for the Insight, set up by Edge for daily driving and towing.
- EAS Pressure Sensor, 0-100 PSI (98607): a sender that adds a dedicated pressure channel to the screen.
The monitor itself, the Edge Insight CTS3, is in the Monitors collection under Digital Monitors, and the A-pillar mount is in Mounts.
Fitment notes
These are Ram 1500 EcoDiesel parts; this engine was never built into a 2500 or 3500. EAS accessories have nowhere to display without an Edge screen, so pair them with the Insight. Read the instructions for probe placement and wiring before you start, and verify your truck by VIN on the product page. If you would rather not do the wiring yourself, we install everything we sell.
Frequently asked questions
Do the EAS sensors work without an Edge monitor?
No. EAS accessories report to an Edge screen, such as the Insight CTS3 carried for these trucks. On their own they have nowhere to send a reading, so buy the monitor first or at the same time.
Should I add exhaust temperature or pressure first?
If you tow, start with exhaust temperature. Edge built that kit for daily driving and towing, and the factory cluster gives you no exhaust temperature number. Add the 0-100 PSI pressure sensor when you want a dedicated reading from a sensor you install yourself.
Can the shop install the EGT kit for me?
Yes. We install everything we sell, in our bays in Wildwood, FL. Call the number in the header with your year and cab, and we can set up the monitor, the probe and the wiring in one visit.
