2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel Monitor Accessories

These are the Edge Products EAS add-ons for a 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel that runs an Edge monitor: the 98620 EGT kit and the 98607 pressure sensor. Know this before you order: they don't display anything on their own. They feed extra readings into a compatible Edge monitor, such as the Insight CTS3, through its accessory input.

Monitor accessories for the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel

A plug-in monitor shows what the EcoDiesel's computer reports over OBD-II. EAS accessories go a step further and add sensors the factory never installed. Edge's EGT probe kits give the Insight CTS3 a true pyrometer reading through its accessory input, so you're looking at a measured exhaust temperature instead of only a reported one. The monitor still handles the display, the alerts and the data logging.

Why a measured EGT reading is worth having

Heat is the thing to watch on this truck. Towing and hauling loads are when oil-cooler cross-contamination is at its worst, and owners report the 8HP70 transmission's thermal bypass valve letting fluid temperature climb into limp mode under tow. A pyrometer channel next to your transmission and coolant temperatures gives you a fuller picture on a long pull, so you can back off before temperatures run away.

What we carry

  • Edge Products 98620 EAS EGT Kit, Daily Driver/Tow Kit: an exhaust gas temperature probe kit for Edge's EAS accessory system.
  • Edge Products 98607 EAS Pressure Sensor: a sensor with a 0-100 PSI range that adds a pressure channel to an EAS-compatible Edge monitor. Check the product page for fittings and connection details.

The Insight CTS3 monitor these report through is listed in the Monitors collection for this truck.

Fitment notes

These parts are for the Ram 1500 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 and an Edge monitor with an EAS accessory input; the CTS3 has one. The EGT probe has to be mounted in the exhaust with its wire routed into the cab, and the pressure sensor has to be plumbed to the point you want to read, so neither is a plug-and-go job. The CTS3 ships with a windshield mount, and Edge sells dash and pillar mounts separately. Verify your truck by VIN if you're unsure of the engine or year.

Frequently asked questions

Will these accessories work without an Edge monitor?

No. They are EAS accessories, made to report through an Edge monitor's accessory input. On this truck that means the Insight CTS3 84130-3, which reads the OBD-II port and shows the added channels next to the factory data.

The CTS3 already shows EGT. Why add the 98620 kit?

The CTS3 shows the values the truck reports. The 98620 adds a true pyrometer probe, a direct measurement taken in the exhaust. If you tow often and want that number on screen beside transmission temperature, this is the kit to add.

Can you install the EGT probe for me?

Yes. We install everything we sell at our shop in Wildwood, FL. Bring the truck in with the monitor and kit, and we'll handle the probe mounting and the wiring.

Not sure what fits? Call the shop at the number in the header, or use the fitment checker on any product page. We install everything we sell.
