2020-2022 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Suspension Components

Individual suspension components for the 2020-2022 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke: shocks, air springs and compressors, track bars, traction bars, sway bar links and bushings. Buy these when you're fixing one problem rather than changing ride height, and confirm whether your truck is 2WD or 4x4 first, because the two front ends share almost nothing.

Suspension components on the 2020-2022 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

Ford built these trucks two ways. A 4x4 runs a coil-sprung solid front axle located by radius arms and a track bar. A 2WD runs Twin I-Beam independent front suspension. Both use leaf springs in the rear, and 4x4 trucks add a factory 3-inch block. Each part in this collection does one job inside that layout. Shocks control spring motion. The track bar keeps the front axle centered side to side. Traction bars keep the rear axle from winding up under torque. Air springs help the leaf pack carry weight.

Tremor trucks are their own case. Their springs and 1.7-inch twin-tube dampers are unique to the package, so don't assume a standard 4x4 part is a Tremor match. Many listings here are written for 2017-and-up 6.7L Powerstroke trucks, since 2017 through 2022 is one body generation.

What fails and why

On these trucks the trouble usually follows the job you give them. Tow heavy pin weight on a single-rear-wheel truck and the rear leaf pack sags, which aims the headlights high and lets the trailer sway. Lift or level a 4x4 and the front axle shifts off center while caster changes, bringing steering pull and shimmy. Both are component fixes, not whole-kit fixes.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

For a stock-height truck, a matched set of shocks and, if you tow, a pair of air springs covers most needs. For a leveled or lifted truck, add the parts that correct geometry: an adjustable track bar or bracket, a caster kit, fresh track bar bushings, and traction bars if you put heavy loads or big power through the rear axle. Shocks should match the ride height you actually run, not the one the truck left the factory with.

What we carry

  • BD Diesel: adjustable track bars and a track bar bracket.

Fitment notes

Match the drivetrain first, then the axle. WCFab's bracket kits are axle-specific. The Dana M275 rides under F-350 SRW trucks and F-250s with the high-capacity tow package or Tremor. The Dana M300 rides under F-350 DRW trucks and the F-450. A standard F-250 uses a Sterling 10.5. Read your axle tag if you're unsure. BD Diesel's track bars are listed for different year spans, so read the years on each one. Some caster bushings don't fit 10-lug trucks, and some 2020-and-later trucks keep the factory track bar bracket with certain kits. Verify by VIN when in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

Which shocks fit my truck?

Bilstein lists these by series, front or rear, 2WD or 4WD, and model, with separate rear shocks for the F-450 and F-550. Match all four, and match ride height if the truck is leveled or lifted. On a Tremor, the factory dampers are unique to the package, so confirm by VIN.

Do I need a compressor with my air springs?

It's optional. The WirelessONE and WirelessAIR compressor systems are sold separately from the helper spring kits, and the WirelessAIR control system runs from an app. If you hook and unhook often, being able to adjust pressure without an air hose is worth it.

What do traction bars do on a Super Duty?

They tie the rear axle to the frame so it can't wind up under hard acceleration or a heavy load. WCFab sells 60- and 68-inch kits with brackets built for the Dana M275 or M300, and BDS sells a recoil traction bar mounting kit. Pick the bracket kit that matches your rear axle.

I leveled my truck and now it pulls. What should I look at?

Leveling or lifting a 4x4 moves the front axle off center and changes caster, which causes pull and shimmy. An adjustable track bar or bracket recenters the axle, and a caster kit restores the angle. If you're replacing track bar bushings at the same time, SPE Motorsport's kit with the removal tool makes it a cleaner job.
