Call or Text (352) 722-5295DPF-back exhaust on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Every 2017-2019 6.7L Powerstroke truck sends its exhaust through a DOC, then an SCR catalyst with DEF injection, then a silicon-carbide DPF. A DPF-back system replaces only the piping behind that assembly. On this platform the compliant aftermarket starts at the DPF outlet, so that's where the systems on this page begin. MBRP calls its version filter-back, named for where it starts: behind the factory filter. The DPF and SCR assembly does most of the sound damping on these trucks, which is why system and muffler choice here is mostly about tone.
Choosing a system
Start with diameter and exit style. The Banks Power Monster 49795 is a 5-inch constant-diameter, straight-through system in 409 stainless with a single exit, and Banks rates it at 82 percent less backpressure than stock. It's offered with a polished chrome or Cerakote black 6.5 x 7.5-inch ob-round tip, and Banks states no CARB EO is required for it. MBRP builds its filter-back systems in Armor Lite, Armor Plus and Armor BLK versions. You can choose 4-inch single exit (the S6289 kits), 4-inch dual exit (S6290 and S6291409) or 5-inch (S62930 in Armor Plus and Armor Lite). If you pull a fifth-wheel or gooseneck, check routing before you buy; Banks lists fifth-wheel-compatible routing for the 49795.
Supporting parts
Not everything here is a full kit. MBRP also lists a universal exhaust adapter for joining sections, and MAHLE's F32820 gasket seals the intermediate pipe to the tailpipe on 2011-2023 trucks. If you're keeping the factory system and just need that joint sealed, the MAHLE gasket is the part. Tips, clamps and mufflers for these systems are on the accessories and mufflers pages for this truck.
What we carry
MBRP supplies filter-back systems in Armor Lite, Armor Plus and Armor BLK, in single and dual exit, 4-inch and 5-inch, plus universal adapters. Banks Power supplies the Monster 49795 5-inch single-exit system. Mahle supplies the intermediate-pipe-to-tailpipe gasket. To compare systems across other trucks, browse the full exhaust category.
Fitment notes
DPF-back systems are cab and bed specific. The Banks 49795 fits 2017-up F-250, F-350 and F-450 single- and dual-rear-wheel trucks in SuperCab and Crew Cab, short or long bed, but not the Regular Cab long bed. Chassis cabs route their exhaust differently and need cab-chassis-specific parts. Year coverage runs past 2019 on many of these systems: the Banks is listed for 2017-2026, and the MBRP kits are listed from 2017 through 2024, 2025 or 2026 depending on part number. Read the title, and verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
Is a filter-back system the same as a DPF-back?
For shopping purposes, yes. Both start behind the factory filter and replace only the piping from there to the tip, so the DOC, SCR and DPF stay on the truck. MBRP uses the filter-back name for its systems.
Will a DPF-back system fit my Regular Cab?
Check the specific kit. The Banks 49795 does not fit the Regular Cab long bed, and on these trucks the Regular Cab comes only with the 8-foot box. DPF-back systems are cab and bed specific in general, so match the kit to your cab style and bed length before you order.
How loud will a DPF-back system make my truck?
The factory DPF and SCR assembly does most of the sound damping on this truck, and it stays in place with any DPF-back. From there, the system's diameter and whether you add a muffler set the tone. Call the shop if you want to talk through options.
Will a 2017-2019 system fit my 2020 or newer Super Duty?
Many do. The Banks 49795 is listed for 2017-2026, and the MBRP kits run to 2024, 2025 or 2026 depending on part number. Read the year range in each title before you order.
