Call or Text (352) 722-5295Monitor accessories on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
A plug-in OBD-II monitor shows you what the PCM already broadcasts. Accessories go one step further. They add a sensor of your own, wired back to the monitor, so you read a probe or sender you placed rather than only the values the truck chooses to share. The 6.7L Powerstroke in these trucks runs a single variable-geometry turbo and handles its own DPF regenerations, and some owners want that extra layer of information on top of the factory gauges.
Why owners add sensors
No add-on sensor fixes a failure. What it gives you is a number to watch, and that habit pays off on this truck because some problems stay quiet. A mechanically stuck fan clutch, for example, sets no code at all; it shows up as fan roar and lost mileage, and it can happen at any mileage. The better you know your truck's normal readings, the sooner you notice when one drifts.
Monitor only vs. adding sensors
If you only want values the PCM reports, a monitor by itself covers it. Add the EGT kit when exhaust gas temperature is the number you care about; Edge labels this one the Daily Driver/Tow Kit. Add the pressure sensor when you want a 0-100 psi reading from a point you choose. Each one means installing hardware on the truck, so they suit owners comfortable with that job, or owners who want us to do it.
What we carry
The add-ons here come from Edge Products:
- Edge EAS EGT Kit 98620 (Daily Driver/Tow Kit) adds an exhaust gas temperature probe to an Edge setup.
- Edge EAS Pressure Sensor 98607 adds a pressure reading with a 0-100 psi range.
The monitor itself, the Edge Insight CTS3, is in the Monitors collection for this truck, and display mounts are in Mounts.
Fitment notes
EAS accessories are Edge parts, so confirm on the product page that your Edge monitor accepts them. Placement is the real fitment question. The 6.7L uses reverse-flow heads, with the exhaust ports and turbo in the engine valley, so plan probe placement and wire routing before you start. F-350, F-450 and F-550 chassis cabs use a different turbo than pickups (a ball-bearing Garrett GT3582V instead of the GT3788V), so verify your truck by VIN with the fitment checker.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an Edge monitor to use these?
They are Edge EAS accessories, made to add readings to an Edge setup. Check the product page for which Edge monitors accept them. If you are starting from scratch, the Insight CTS3 is in the Monitors collection for this truck.
What will the pressure sensor read?
Whatever you connect it to, within 0-100 psi. The sensor gives you a number; where you install it decides what that number means. Confirm on the product page that the fitting and range suit your plan before you order.
Is installing the EGT probe a driveway job?
It means placing a probe in the exhaust and routing its wire back into the cab, so it takes care and some patience. If you would rather not, we install everything we sell at our shop in Wildwood, FL.
