Call or Text (352) 722-5295Lifting the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Ford located the 4x4 front axle on these trucks with radius arms and a track bar, hung it on coil springs and used 1.38-inch gas shocks, with leaf springs and 1.38-inch gas shocks out back. A lift kit replaces or relocates those front pieces to raise the truck. The front geometry is shared back to 2005, which is why BDS sells its 4-link conversion and FOX 2.5 coil-over upgrades for 2005-2016 trucks, while the complete BDS kits for the 6.7L Powerstroke are listed for 2011-2016 4WD.
Check the front end before you lift
Lifting a truck with tired steering parts just makes the problem taller. The aftermarket targets ball joint, track bar, tie rod and steering damper wear on 2005-2016 coil-sprung Super Dutys, and a 2016 F-250 owner reported 'death wobble' to NHTSA: a violent shake at highway speed after a bump. It is a single complaint, but it points at the parts you will be handling during the install anyway. Inspect them and replace what is worn while the front end is apart.
Radius arm, 4-link or coil-over?
BDS builds these kits in several layouts. There are base kits at 2.5, 4 and 6 inches. Radius-arm kits come in 2.5, 4 and 6 inches. 4-link kits, which swap the factory radius arms for a four-link setup, come in 4, 6 and 8 inches, and the 8-inch kits are 4-link only. Most heights are also offered with a FOX 2.5 coil-over conversion in place of a separate spring and shock. If you would rather build in stages, BDS sells the 4-link conversion as an upgrade for 4 to 6-inch lifts, and the FOX coil-over conversion as an upgrade for 2.5, 4, 6 and 8-inch lifts. SPE Motorsport's fixed caster kit is here as well, for setting caster on a raised front end.
Stock height vs. lifted
Stay at factory height if the truck mostly tows and you like how it drives; a leveling kit or Air Lift load support may cover what you need with less change. Lift it when you want more clearance under the truck, and expect the taller kits to replace more of the front end. Whatever height you pick, plan on an alignment afterward.
What we carry
- BDS Suspension complete lift kits for 2011-2016 6.7L 4WD trucks in 2.5, 4, 6 and 8-inch heights, in base, radius-arm and 4-link versions, many with FOX 2.5 coil-over conversions.
- BDS upgrades for 2005-2016 4WD trucks: the 4-link conversion for 4 to 6-inch lifts and FOX 2.5 coil-over conversion upgrades at each height.
- SPE Motorsport fixed caster kit.
Fitment notes
These kits are for 4x4 trucks only. 4x2 trucks run Twin-I-Beam up front and share nothing with the 4x4 axle. Diesel and gas Super Dutys take different coil springs, so a diesel kit is the one to buy for a 6.7L. The complete kits are listed 2011-2016, and the 2017-and-later aluminum trucks are a different fitment. If your truck has the Heavy-Service Front Suspension or Camper Package, it came with upgraded front springs; mention it when you call. Verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a radius-arm kit and a 4-link kit?
Ford located the 4x4 front axle with radius arms. A radius-arm kit keeps that arm layout at the new height, while a 4-link kit replaces the radius arms with four links. BDS offers the 4-link as an upgrade for 4 to 6-inch lifts, and the 8-inch kits are 4-link only. Tell us how you use the truck and we will help you choose.
Will a 2011-2016 lift kit fit my 2017 F-250?
No. 2017 brought an all-new Super Duty with an aluminum body on a new frame, and suspension fitment changed with it. The complete BDS kits here are listed for 2011-2016 4WD trucks only.
Can I add FOX coil-overs after the lift is installed?
Yes. BDS sells the FOX 2.5 coil-over conversion as a separate upgrade for 2.5, 4, 6 and 8-inch lifts on 2005-2016 4WD trucks. That lets you start with a standard kit and add coil-overs later.
Do you install lift kits?
Yes. We install everything we sell in our bays in Wildwood, FL. A lift is a good time to replace worn track bar and steering parts too, since the front end is already apart.
