The Merchant Automotive 450400C is a complete engine gasket set with Grade C head gaskets for 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the 6.6L LML Duramax. It is built for a head gasket job or a full rebuild, where you need a large variety of gaskets and seals at once and would rather order one part number.
Fitment
Built for 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD with the LML 6.6L Duramax. Several seals in the set are also used on other Duramax engines, as the item list shows, but the set as a whole is assembled for the LML. Head gaskets are included; head bolts are NOT included. Why this part
When you are replacing blown head gaskets or rebuilding an LML Duramax, you need a large variety of gaskets and seals to get the job done. Merchant Automotive put this kit together with OE-style and upgraded parts to help make sure your LML gaskets perform to OE spec. It runs to more than 30 line items, from the injector coppers, injector body seals and return line seals to the upper and lower valve cover gaskets, the turbo and up pipe gaskets, the intake Y bridge seals, the PCV seals and the EGR valve and cooler gaskets, so the EGR system goes back together sealed.
Head gasket grade is the detail to get right before you order. GM head gaskets for the 2001-2016 6.6L Duramax are side-specific and come in thickness grades (A, B and C) selected by measured piston protrusion. This set ships with Grade C head gaskets, so measure protrusion first and confirm Grade C is right for your engine. If you need a different grade, Merchant also sells this gasket set without head gaskets or bolts as part number 4504000.
Head bolts are not in the box, so have head bolts or head studs ready before the heads go back on. ARP 230-4201 head studs fit 2001-2016 6.6L Duramax, raise clamp load about 25%, and are recommended whenever head gaskets are replaced, especially on trucks that tow heavy or are tuned.

How do I know Grade C head gaskets are right for my LML?
