The Mag-Hytec E4OD/4R100 Transmission Filter is the pan filter for the E4OD and 4R100 automatics behind the 1994-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke. It is a stock replacement 4WD filter used in stock applications and with deep transmission pans such as the Mag-Hytec, so one filter covers either setup at your next fluid service.

Listed for Ford trucks with the 7.3L Powerstroke and an E4OD or 4R100 automatic transmission, covering the 1994-1997 OBS trucks and the 1999-2003 Super Duty trucks. This product also carries a tag for the 2003-2007 6.0L Powerstroke, but the filter itself is E4OD/4R100 only, and Mag-Hytec lists the 2003-2007 6.0L with the 5R110 TorqShift. Why this part
When the pan comes off an E4OD or 4R100 for a fluid service, the pan filter gets replaced with it. This one is a stock replacement 4WD filter. That matters if your truck has a deep transmission pan: Mag-Hytec sells this filter as the match for its deep pans, and it is also used in stock applications, so the same part works whether the truck still runs the factory pan or has been upgraded.
These trucks are now more than two decades old, and you may not know what pan or filter a previous owner installed. The two measurements in the specifications below let you check this filter against the one you pull out before anything goes back together.

Installation notes
This filter is a drop-in replacement, but it is not a genuine OE Ford/Motorcraft filter. Before you install it, compare the tube height (4.2125" from the tube to the bottom of the filter) and the overall height (5.9" from the bottom of the intake to the top of the tube) against the old filter. If the truck has a Mag-Hytec or other deep pan, this is the 4WD-style filter that pan setup uses.
