Call or Text (352) 722-5295Fuel filtration on the 2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel
From the factory, the in-tank pump pushes fuel through a serviceable filter and on to the CP4.2. On the second-generation engine, which covers a 2018 Ram 1500 and a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, the owner-compiled OEM filter list shows Mopar 68235275AA for the fuel filter. For 2020-2023 third-generation trucks we have not confirmed the factory part number, so we don't print one. Gen 3 owners commonly change the fuel filter at the same visit as the oil. One owner at 85,000 miles did oil, fuel, air and cabin filters in a single weekend.
Why it matters on this engine
The CP4.2 can fail internally and push metal debris through the rails, injectors and lines. That is a recall item: 22V406 for 2018-2019 trucks, and 22V767 and 23V263 for 2020-2023, checked by VIN. The recall remedy includes inspecting the low-pressure supply side for debris. Better filtration does not fix the pump. It keeps water and dirt away from it, and a filter element you pull and look at is one more place to spot trouble early.
Stock filter vs. added system
A factory-style filter changed on time is the baseline for every truck. A FASS fuel system goes further: it pairs a lift pump with water separation and particulate filtration in one package. That route makes sense if you tow, run long highway miles, or buy fuel at stations you don't know. The AirDog Raptor pumps are universal units, so they suit an owner who wants a custom setup built around the truck.

Fitment notes
The FASS systems are listed for 2014-2019 EcoDiesel trucks. On this page that means the 2018 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic; the redesigned 2019 DT was never sold with a diesel. If you drive a 2020-2023 DT, check fitment before ordering a complete system. Replacement elements have to match the housing you run: FASS elements for a FASS, AirDog elements for an AirDog. The standard and XL elements are different lengths, so confirm which one your housing takes.
Frequently asked questions
What fuel filter does a 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel take?
The owner-compiled OEM list shows Mopar 68235275AA for the 2014-2019 engine, which covers a 2018 Ram 1500 and a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. That is the factory filter. If you add a FASS or AirDog system, it takes its own replacement elements, which are listed on this page.
Is there a confirmed fuel filter number for 2020-2023 trucks?
Not one we can stand behind, so we won't guess. Use the fitment checker or call the shop with your VIN and we'll look it up. Gen 3 owners commonly replace the fuel filter when they change the oil.
What is the difference between the AirDog 2 micron and 10 micron filters?
The FF100-2 is rated at 2 microns and the F100-10 at 10 microns, so the 2 micron element catches finer particles. Which one goes where depends on your AirDog setup. Check the pump's instructions or call us before you order.
Does a filtration system take the place of the CP4.2 recall?
No. The recall is the only factory-backed fix for the pump, and nothing on this page changes the pump itself. A filtration system keeps cleaner, drier fuel going in. Get the recall checked by VIN first, then decide on filtration.
