The FASS XWS3002 Extreme Water Separator is the pressure-side filter for FASS Drop-In Series, Titanium Series and Titanium Signature Series fuel systems. It is rated at 2 microns absolute, and the element itself traps the water, so there is no drain to service. It pairs with the PF3001 particulate filter as the replacement for the discontinued FASS filters.
Fitment
This is a FASS system filter, not a truck-specific part, so it is not tagged to a year or engine. FASS lists it for use with Drop-In Series, FASS Titanium Series and FASS Titanium Signature Series systems. It must be used together with the PF3001 particulate filter, and it cannot be used in combination with the FF-3003/FF-3010 or FS-1001/FS-1020 filters. If you are not sure which FASS system is on your truck, call us with your VIN or the part number from your system and we will confirm it.
Why this part
The XWS3002 is the newer, more efficient FASS Extreme Water Separator. It filters to 2 microns absolute. Because the filter element traps the water itself, FASS built this separator without a drain. In the current two-filter layout it rides on the pressure side of the system, and the PF3001 sits on the suction side. A FASS system is built to filter water and dirt out of the fuel before it reaches the injection system, and clean fuel is easier on your injectors and high-pressure pump.

Installation notes
If you are replacing the discontinued filters with the new XWS3002 and PF3001, the placement changes. The XWS3002 now goes on the pressure side of the system and the PF3001 goes on the suction side. Check the location diagram on the new filters for proper filter placement before you install them.

Can I run the XWS3002 with my old FASS filters?
No. The XWS3002 must be used with the PF3001. FASS says the new filters cannot be used in combination with the FF-3003/FF-3010 or FS-1001/FS-1020.
Where is the water drain?
There isn't one. The filter element traps the water, so this separator no longer has a drain.
Which side of the system does it go on?
The pressure side. The PF3001 goes on the suction side. The location diagram on the new filters shows where each one belongs.
