Think of the EcoDiesel's intake as a string of joints. Air leaves the factory airbox, passes through the single variable-geometry turbo, then rides rubber boots to a front-mounted charge cooler and back to the intake manifold. Each of those joints is a coupler held by clamps. The engine's crankcase vent also feeds oily vapor into the tract, so the boots and cooler can carry an oily film. The parts on this page keep that path sealed and serviceable on the 2018 Ram 1500, the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic and the 2020-2023 Ram 1500.
What fails and why
The documented problem here is hose and boot damage on the charge-air side. Owners report damaged or chewed hoses causing P0299 underboost and lost power. One 2021 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel set P0299 and P2D2F after rodents got to the charge-air hoses. The lesson from that truck: replace damaged hoses before you suspect the turbo. When a boost code shows up, put a light on every boot and clamp from the turbo to the manifold before you spend money on bigger parts.
Oil is the other thing you will notice. Oil carried by the crankcase vent pools in the charge air cooler, and an oily film inside the boots is one of its symptoms. Further down the line it adds to intake-manifold soot.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
A single damaged boot usually calls for a single coupler. Match the diameter and use clamps sized for it. If several hoses on a 2020-2023 truck are chewed or damaged, PPE sells replacement couplers, quick-connects and silicone boots as part of its intercooler kit, which you will find in our Intercooler and Piping collection. If you run a cotton S&B filter, a cleaning and oil kit keeps it in service. S&B's cotton elements are cleaned and re-oiled, while its dry extendable elements can be cleaned up to 10 times.

Fitment notes
Couplers and clamps are sized by diameter, so measure the joint you are fixing before you order. The PPE resonator kit is titled for 2020-2023 trucks only, which is the third-generation engine in the DT body. The MAHLE throttle body gasket is titled for 2014-2016 trucks, outside this page's year range, so confirm by VIN before buying it for a 2018 or later truck. Every part here is for the Ram 1500; the EcoDiesel was never offered in a 2500 or 3500.

Do these parts fit a Ram 2500 or 3500?
No. The 3.0L EcoDiesel was only offered in the half-ton Ram 1500. The 2018 Ram 1500, the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic and the 2020-2023 Ram 1500 are the trucks this page covers.
