2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel Turbo Accessories

Turbo accessories for the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel: MAHLE turbo gaskets, titanium turbo blankets, and boost and exhaust clamps. Before you buy parts to chase low boost, pull the MAP sensor on the driver side of the intake manifold and clean it. On this engine, that one T40 screw is the least expensive turbo fix there is.

Turbo accessories for the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel

The small parts around a turbo do two jobs: they keep boost and exhaust sealed, and they manage heat. On the EcoDiesel, the Garrett VGT is mounted low in the valley at the rear of the engine, with its coolant lines running behind it. Owner complaints to NHTSA point to oil and coolant seepage around the turbo's water-cooled center section. So if the turbo comes off for an actuator, a leak or a replacement, put it back together with a new gasket and fresh clamps rather than reusing the old ones.

Choosing the right piece

  • Manifold-to-turbo gasket. The MAHLE F33632 is listed for 2014-2019 3.0L EcoDiesel engines and is the one to reach for on a stock turbo.
  • Flange gaskets. The MAHLE G33430 T4 inlet flange gasket and G32761 T6 flange gasket are sized to those flange standards. Use them only if the turbo you are sealing has that flange.
  • Turbo blankets. PPE's titanium woven blankets come in T4 and T6 sizes, and Mishimoto offers the MMHP-TB titanium blanket. A blanket wraps the turbine housing, so match it to the housing on your turbo.
  • Hose clamps. Turbosmart constant-tension clamps cover 1.625 to 2.375 inches, and BD Diesel makes a high-torque hose clamp. Measure the outside diameter of the hose before you order.
  • V-band clamp. The BD Diesel 1405926 is an exhaust V-band clamp for joints built around that style of connection.

What we carry

Gaskets from MAHLE, turbo blankets from PPE and Mishimoto, constant-tension clamps from Turbosmart, and hose and V-band clamps from BD Diesel. For the wider turbo selection across our diesel platforms, see the turbos collection.

Fitment notes

The F33632 gasket is made for this engine; the clamps, flange gaskets and blankets are sized by diameter and flange, so match them to your parts. While you are in there, look over the factory charge pipes, which are plastic and rubber and can split. Turbo hardware from the 2020 and later DT-body EcoDiesel is different and does not fit back to these trucks. Confirm flange type and hose diameter, then verify by VIN or call us.

Frequently asked questions

Which gasket goes between the exhaust manifold and turbo on my 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel?

The MAHLE F33632, which is listed for 2014-2019 3.0L EcoDiesel engines. It seals the factory manifold to the factory Garrett turbo. If the turbo is coming off anyway, a new gasket is the right call.

I hear a hiss under boost. What should I check?

Start with the charge hoses and their O-rings. A cracked charge hose or a nicked O-ring is a documented cause of hissing under boost and P0299 on this engine, often with limp mode or black smoke. If the hoses and O-rings are sound, make sure every joint is clamped securely before you look at the turbo itself.

How do I check the turbo before replacing it?

Use a digital monitor that reads boost and commanded versus actual VGT position. That tells you whether the actuator is tracking before you condemn the turbo. Clean the MAP sensor and have the EGR cooler recall (VB1) checked by VIN as well.
