This is the hardware end of custom tuning. The MPVI4 plugs into the truck's diagnostic port and talks to a computer running HP Tuners software. Vehicle support and licensing come from HP Tuners, so your model year and controller need to be on their list before the interface does you any good. Behind that port sits a DS-body Ram 1500 with the VM Motori 3.0L V6, the ZF 8HP70 eight-speed and, on 4x4 trucks, the Borg-Warner 44-44 two-speed transfer case.
Keep it compliant
Two facts frame any software work on this engine. FCA's 2019 AEM reflash on 2014-2016 trucks is the only calibration change the factory has authorized. And the only power add with a documented CARB Executive Order for the EcoDiesel is an in-line module, the Banks Derringer under EO D-161-148, rather than a reflash. Whatever interface you use, use it for work that keeps every emissions function in place.

Fitment notes
The 2020 and later EcoDiesel in the DT-body Ram 1500 is a different engine generation, so do not carry assumptions across that line. Verify by VIN, or call the shop and we will check it with you.

Do I need anything besides the MPVI4 to work on my EcoDiesel?
That depends on what HP Tuners requires for your truck's controller, since vehicle licensing runs through HP Tuners. Call the shop with your VIN and we will help you sort out what applies before you order, so you are not left with an interface that cannot talk to your truck.
Will this work on a 2020 or newer Ram 1500 EcoDiesel?
This collection is set up for 2014-2017 trucks. The 2020 and later DT-body EcoDiesel is a third-generation engine with a different transmission and EGR layout, so check HP Tuners' support list separately for the newer truck before you buy.
