2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel Lift Kits

Lift kits for the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel, all from BDS Suspension in 2-, 4- and 6-inch heights for 4WD trucks. The thing to know: not every Ram 1500 lift fits the EcoDiesel. At least one well-known 4-inch kit for these trucks excludes both the diesel and air-ride trucks. The kits here name the EcoDiesel in their titles.

Lifting the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel

A lift works with the factory layout: upper and lower A-arms with coil springs up front, and a five-link solid rear axle with a track bar and coil springs out back. The diesel is heavier than the gas engines, so its front spring rate differs, and that is one reason EcoDiesel fitment has to be called out per kit instead of assumed from a HEMI listing. Trucks with the optional four-corner air suspension are a separate case, since many lift kits exclude factory air ride.

Picking a height

  • 2 inch. The BDS 2-inch lift with FOX 2.0 coil-overs is the mildest change on this page.
  • 4 inch. BDS lists the 4-inch kit in more than one configuration, including a version with FOX 2.5 Performance Elite coilovers. Compare the listings to see which shocks come in the box.
  • 6 inch. The 6-inch kit comes as a base kit or with FOX 2.5 Performance Elite coilovers.

BDS also sells upper control arm kits sized for 2-3 inch and 4-6 inch lifts, under suspension components. Ask us whether your kit and height call for them.

Towing on a lifted EcoDiesel

If you tow, plan load support along with the lift. If you run Air Lift helper springs, Air Lift notes that lifted trucks may need air spring spacers and that large lifts with link relocation can interfere with the helper springs. Check your weight ratings after a tire change too: Ram rates EcoDiesel Quad and Crew Cabs at 6,950 lb GVWR, 6,800 lb with off-road tires or steel wheels and 6,200 lb with 22-inch tires.

What we carry

BDS Suspension lift kits listed for the 2014-2018 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel 4WD: the 2-inch kit with FOX 2.0 coil-overs, and 4-inch and 6-inch kits in base form or with FOX 2.5 Performance Elite coilovers.

Fitment notes

These kits are listed for 4WD trucks only. The listings read 2014-2018; the EcoDiesel did not change mechanically between 2017 and 2018, so they cover your model year. Parts generally do not interchange with the 2019-and-later DT Ram 1500, which is a different body with different suspension and 6-lug wheels. If your truck has factory air suspension, check each listing's air-ride note before ordering. Everything here is for the half-ton Ram 1500 EcoDiesel; verify by VIN.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't some Ram 1500 lift kits fit the EcoDiesel?

The diesel is heavier than the gas engines, so the front spring rate differs, and some kit makers simply exclude it. At least one well-known 4-inch kit for the 2009-2018 4WD Ram 1500 is sold excluding both the EcoDiesel and air-ride trucks. Always look for the EcoDiesel by name in the fitment.

Can I lift an EcoDiesel that has factory air suspension?

Many lift kits exclude air-ride trucks, so do not assume a coil-spring kit will work. Check the listing's air-ride note, and call us with your VIN if it is not clear. The factory system already gives up to 10.8 inches of ground clearance in Off-Road 2 on a Crew Cab with 17-inch tires.

Will my Air Lift helper springs still work after a lift?

Plan for it. Air Lift notes that lifted trucks may need air spring spacers, and that large lifts with link relocation can interfere with helper springs. Tell us your lift height and we will help you sort out the spacers.

Do these kits fit a 2019 Ram 1500?

They are listed for 2014-2018. The 2019-and-later DT Ram 1500 is a different truck with different suspension, and its parts generally do not interchange. The 2019 Ram 1500 Classic kept the older DS body, so call us before ordering for one.
