The CTS3 is a 5-inch touchscreen monitor that reads the EcoDiesel's OBD-II port. It reads and clears trouble codes, logs data and sets the alerts you choose. On this truck it shows boost, EGT, transmission temperature and regen status, and on 2015-2022 3.0L Ram diesels it can command a mobile DPF regeneration. Edge marks it “CARB EO not required” because it does not affect emissions. It's a window into the engine, not a tuner.
Factory gauges vs. the CTS3
The factory display on the diesel trucks already shows coolant temperature, fuel filter life, battery voltage and turbo boost, and it posts DPF messages from “Regeneration Required Now” up to “Exhaust Filter Full - Power Reduced.” That covers the basics. The CTS3 adds what the factory screen doesn't: exhaust and transmission temperature on one page, logs you can review later, code reading, and alerts on the channels you care about. Owners who tow get the most from it. Towing heat is tied to this engine's oil-cooler cross-contamination and, by owner reports, to the 8HP70 transmission running hot enough to go into limp mode.

Fitment notes
For the Ram 1500 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6. All 2014-2017 trucks get the monitoring, logging and code functions; mobile regen support starts at 2015. Edge sells dash and pillar mounts separately if the windshield spot doesn't work in your cab. Verify your truck by VIN if you're unsure of the year or engine.

Will the CTS3 read and clear trouble codes on my EcoDiesel?
Yes. Edge lists reading and clearing trouble codes among its functions, along with data logging and alerts. Clearing a code doesn't fix the cause, so write down what it was before you clear it.
Does my 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel get mobile regen?
Edge's mobile regeneration support starts at 2015, so a 2014 truck may not get that command. The monitoring, logging and code functions still work. Call us with your VIN if regen is the reason you're buying.
Do I need a CARB EO number to run this monitor?
No. Edge marks the 84130-3 “CARB EO not required” because it does not affect emissions. It reads and displays data and leaves the engine calibration alone.
