A fourth-gen Ram HD carries its front axle on coil springs, located by links and a track bar. A leveling kit raises the front to bring the nose closer to the height of the rear. The kits on this page get there in different ways: Daystar Comfort Ride kits, Bilstein B12 front coil springs, Bilstein B8 5112 and B8 5162 series leveling kits, and BDS 2-inch leveling kits. For 2013, Ram fitted a wider, stronger front suspension, and for 2014 the 2500 moved to a five-link coil rear with optional rear air. Those two changes are why kits are built for specific year ranges.
What changes when you level
Raising the 2013-and-newer front end changes caster and the track bar angle. One suspension engineering shop states a rigid track bar is required alongside any height change to keep the steering stable. That matters because the factory track bar bushings are already the leading cause of death wobble on these trucks, and on 2013+ trucks the same shop expects the factory bar to need replacement around 20,000 miles. Level the truck and replace the track bar in the same job.
What we carry
Daystar Comfort Ride kits in 1-, 1.5- and 2-inch heights, with separate 2WD and 4WD part numbers for trucks through 2013 and 2-inch front kits for 2014/13 and newer. Bilstein B12 2-inch front coil springs plus B8 5112 and B8 5162 series leveling kits for 2500 and 3500 4WD trucks. BDS Suspension 2-inch leveling kits for the 2500 and 3500, including a version for 2500s with rear air ride. A BDS 6-inch 4-link lift for 2014-2018 2500 4WD trucks also shows up here.
Fitment notes
Start with the year split. On the 2500 it falls between 2013 and 2014, and on the 3500 between 2012 and 2013, so a title reading 2014/13 means 2014-up for one model and 2013-up for the other. The Daystar kits listed for 1994-2013 cover the early end of this range; check the listing against your model. Then match drive, because several kits are 2WD or 4WD only. Last, rear air. Trucks with factory rear air suspension need air-specific leveling parts, which is why BDS sells a separate 2-inch kit for 2500s with rear air ride. Verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a track bar with a leveling kit on a 2014-2018 Ram 2500?
Plan on one. Leveling the 2013-and-newer front end changes caster and track bar angle, and a rigid track bar keeps the steering stable at the new height. Doing both in one job keeps the front end sorted from day one.
Which leveling kit fits a 2WD truck?
Look at the Daystar kits. For 2WD trucks through 2013, Daystar lists 1-, 1.5- and 2-inch Comfort Ride kits, and for 2014/13-2018 2WD trucks it lists the KC09134BK 2-inch front kit. The Bilstein and BDS leveling kits here are listed for 4WD.
My 2500 has factory rear air. Can I still level it?
Yes, with the right kit. Trucks with factory rear air need air-specific leveling parts. BDS lists a 2-inch leveling kit for 2014-2026 Ram 2500 4WD trucks with rear air ride, so match that line in the title.
