2007.5-2009 Dodge 6.7L Cummins Turbo Accessories

Turbo accessories for the 2007.5-2009 Ram 2500 and 3500 6.7L Cummins: gaskets, oil feed and drain lines, install kits, actuator parts, speed sensors, clamps, blankets and boost-testing gear. The factory Holset HE351VE is oil-fed, water-cooled and moved by an electronic actuator, so a turbo job touches a lot of small connections. These are the parts that make it seal up.

Turbo accessories on the 2007.5-2009 RAM 6.7L Cummins

The HE351VE is a variable-geometry turbo that mounts on a flange gasket, takes pressurized oil through a feed line, returns it through a drain tube, ties into the cooling system with banjo fittings, and moves its nozzle ring with an electronic actuator on its own harness. Each of those connections has a gasket, washer, fitting or clamp. When the turbo comes off for a repair or an upgrade, replacing those pieces instead of reusing them is how you avoid doing the job twice. Fleece's Cheetah kit, for example, ships with the exhaust flange gasket, studs and nuts, oil drain gasket and coolant banjo washers, which makes a good checklist for any turbo swap on this engine.

What fails and why

Not every turbo problem on an early 6.7L means a new turbo. Actuators fail electronically, tied to heat cycles, and leave you with actuator codes, no exhaust brake, or a turbo stuck in one position. Speed sensors are on the list of early 6.7L electronic failures and set speed sensor codes. Oil seals leaking into the compressor or turbine housing show up as oil in the intercooler piping and blue smoke; when a turbo gets replaced for that, the feed and drain gaskets get replaced with it. Dust damage to the compressor wheel ties back to air filter neglect, which is worth fixing before a new turbo goes on.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

Most of this collection is stock-for-stock service parts. MAHLE gaskets and the Alliant Power, BD and Fleece install and mounting kits put things back the way the factory had them, and the Cummins actuator harness adapter is the genuine part. The upgrade side is about heat and routing: titanium turbo blankets hold heat in the turbine housing and keep it off nearby parts, flexible oil drains from BD make routing easier, and the S300/S400 line kits from G&R Diesel and EvilFab are for trucks running that turbo frame. Constant-tension and V-band clamps keep boost and exhaust joints tight through heat cycles.

What we carry

  • Gaskets: MAHLE GS33616 mounting gasket set, G32463 mounting gasket, and T4 and T6 flange gaskets.
  • Install and mounting kits: Fleece VGT and S300-S400 install kits, the BD Diesel 1045983 mounting kit, and the Alliant Power AP0186 installation kit.
  • Oil feed and drain: Fleece drain tube and drain service kits plus a Holset oil feed fitting; BD 12-inch and 23-inch flexible drains; the G&R Diesel S300-S400 drain, supply and line kit; the EvilFab drain line and S300/S400 feed line; and a PPE T4 drain fitting.
  • Actuator and sensor: the BD 1045922 remanufactured actuator, BD 1407046 and Cummins 5347703 VGT actuator harness adapters, and the Fleece FPE-351-SP-SEN turbine shaft speed sensor.
  • Cooling: Fleece CR stock VGT turbo coolant plugs.
  • Blankets: PPE titanium woven T4 and T6 blankets, Mishimoto titanium blankets including the MMTB-RAM-07, and the ATS T4 blanket.
  • Clamps and testing: BD V-band, Marmon and high-torque clamps, Turbosmart constant-tension clamps, and the Calibrated Power Stealth Boost Tester HD regulator with Holset and S300-S500 inlet adapters.

Fitment notes

Read the year range in every title. The actuator, the actuator harness adapters and the Fleece S300-S400 install kit are listed 2007.5-2012; most gaskets, mounting kits and drain tube kits are listed 2007.5-2018; some oil lines and fittings reach back into the 5.9L years. All of those include your truck. T4 and T6 parts are matched to the turbo flange, and S300/S400 parts to that turbo frame, so match them to the turbo actually on your truck, not just the year. If your truck is a chassis cab, verify by VIN before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

What should I replace along with the turbo on a 2008 Ram 6.7L?

Plan on the mounting gasket, the oil drain gasket and the coolant banjo washers at minimum, since the HE351VE is oil-fed and water-cooled. Fleece's Cheetah kit includes the flange gasket, studs and nuts, drain gasket and banjo washers, which is a good checklist. For a stock replacement, the MAHLE GS33616 set and the Fleece, BD and Alliant Power install kits are built for this job; check each kit's contents on its product page.

Does the Fleece Cheetah include the speed sensor?

No. The turbine speed sensor is sold separately. The Fleece FPE-351-SP-SEN turbine shaft speed sensor in this collection is listed for 2007.5-2022 6.7L Cummins trucks, so it covers your 2007.5-2009.

Actuator codes and no exhaust brake: do I need a whole turbo?

Not always. Actuator failure is a separate electronic fault from the turbo itself, and those are its symptoms. BD's remanufactured actuator and the BD and Cummins harness adapters cover that repair. If the nozzle ring is also stuck from soot buildup, a new actuator alone will not fix it, so check that the ring moves freely.

What is the Stealth Boost Tester for?

It lets you pressurize the intake side through the compressor inlet, using the Holset inlet adapter on a factory turbo, so you can check the charge air cooler, boots and clamps for leaks before or after turbo work. The HD regulator sets the test pressure. It is worth having any time you are chasing a boost complaint.
