An upgraded replacement is a housing that does more than restore stock. Every assembly here is a complete AlphaRex unit with projector optics, so you are choosing two things: the series and the finish. The truck it bolts to is the third-generation Ram HD that got the 6.7L Cummins in 2007.5, and it uses the same headlight the 2006 refresh introduced.
The three series
- Pro-Series projector headlights, the line without the LED designation, in black, alpha-black or chrome.
- Luxx-Series LED projector headlights in black, alpha-black or chrome. This is the series that also has matching tail lights for this truck.
- Nova-Series LED projector headlights in black, matte black, gloss black or chrome.
Fitment notes
Shop 2006-2009 Ram 2500/3500 fitment; the same housings cover the 2006-2008 Ram 1500. The 2009 Ram 1500 is a different body and its headlights will not fit your 2009 HD. If a headlight is dropping out rather than just looking tired, have the TIPM checked first; many owners trace lighting faults on these trucks to that module rather than the lamp. Verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
What makes these an upgraded replacement?
They replace the whole factory headlight housing with a different design rather than copying it. Each one is a projector assembly, and the Luxx and Nova lines add LED lighting. If you want a factory-look lamp, that is an OE-type part, not what this page carries.
Should I pick a finish to match my tail lights?
If matching matters, look at the Luxx-Series. AlphaRex offers Luxx-Series LED tail lights for this truck in black, black/red and alpha-black, and the Luxx headlights come in black and alpha-black, so a matched set is easy to put together.
Does the 6.7L change headlight fitment compared with the 5.9L?
No. The engine change in 2007.5 did not touch the body, and headlight fitment for the 2500/3500 runs 2006-2009 regardless of which Cummins is in the truck.
