2020-2022 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Fuel Lines

High-pressure injection lines, line sets, fittings and fuel contamination kits for the 2020-2022 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke. The thing to know: if the Bosch CP4.2 pump fails and sheds metal, the high-pressure and return lines go on the replacement list along with the rails and injectors.

Fuel lines on the 2020-2022 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

The third-generation 6.7L Powerstroke runs injection pressure up to 36,000 psi, up from 30,000 psi on the 2011-2019 engines. High-pressure lines connect the CP4.2, the two fuel rails and the eight 19 mm piezo injectors, and return lines carry fuel back toward the tank. On the low-pressure side, supply now starts at the in-tank lift pump, which Ford moved off the frame for 2020. Every high-pressure connection on this engine has to hold that pressure, so line and fitting choice is not a place to guess.

What fails and why

The documented reason for line replacement on these trucks is a CP4 failure. Ford recall 24S78 covers 2020-2022 Super Duty diesels because biodiesel deposits can form on the pump's roller components and lead to pump failure, and water and debris in the fuel are the other causes. When a CP4 fails, it can contaminate the whole fuel system, and the high-pressure lines and return lines are replaced along with the rails and injectors. Rail pressure codes P0087, P0088 or P0191, a rough idle, stalling and metal flakes in the fuel filter are the signs. If you find metal, stop driving.

Contamination kit vs. individual parts

After a pump failure, a complete contamination kit built for the 2020-2022 6.7L is the straightforward route, because it gathers the matching parts for that repair. The No Pump versions leave the high-pressure pump out so you can supply your own, such as when you are converting to a different pump. Individual line sets and fittings make sense for a single damaged line or for a custom fuel setup. Read each kit's listing for its exact contents before you order.

What we carry

Fuel contamination kits from Alliant Power (AP57003, and AP57003NP without the pump) and XDP MFG (XD599 stock replacement, and XD614 without the pump), all listed for 2020-2022 trucks. A BD Diesel 1050165 fuel injector line set. Dynomite Diesel Products universal oversized high-pressure injection lines in multiple lengths. And Exergy Performance fittings: an M14x1.5 three-way T, an M14x1.5 plug and nut rail cap, and M12x1.5 to -6AN and -8AN high-flow CP3 supply fittings for setups that run a CP3.

Fitment notes

Check the year range on every listing. The BD Diesel 1050165 line set is listed for 2011-2021 trucks, so 2022 owners should confirm by VIN. The Alliant Power and XDP contamination kits are listed for 2020-2022 only, matching the third-gen system and its all-new injectors, and are not listed for 2017-2019 trucks. The Dynomite lines are universal and sold by length, so measure your routing first. The Exergy fittings are for custom plumbing, so plan the whole layout before you buy. Verify by VIN.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need new fuel lines after a CP4 failure?

Yes. When a CP4 sheds metal, the high-pressure lines and return lines are replaced along with both rails and all eight injectors. A contamination kit listed for the 2020-2022 6.7L is the simplest way to get a matching set, and the tank and sending unit need attention too.

What is the difference between the kits with and without the pump?

The Alliant Power AP57003NP and XDP XD614 are No Pump versions of the AP57003 and XD599 kits; they leave out the high-pressure pump. Choose one if you are sourcing the pump separately, for example with a pump conversion. Otherwise the full kit keeps the job in one box.

Are the Dynomite oversized injection lines a direct fit?

They are listed as universal and sold in multiple lengths, so they are not a truck-specific bolt-in set. Measure your routing and check the listing, or call the shop for help choosing lengths.
