Call or Text (352) 722-5295OBD-II monitors on the 2018-2021 F-150 3.0L
Every diesel F-150 from 2018 to 2021 is an OBD-II CAN-bus truck, so a plug-in monitor reads it straight from the diagnostic port with no changes to the emissions system. The 3.0L Power Stroke behind that port is a V6 with one variable-geometry Honeywell turbo, rated 250 hp and 440 lb-ft, and it shifts through the 10R80 10-speed. Ford's cluster tracks DEF and regeneration. A monitor is how you see the rest.
How to pick a monitor
- Know what you want to watch. On this engine, boost, EGT and transmission temperature are the readings that matter most when towing.
- Plan where it mounts. Edge's 18602 A-pillar mount is listed for 2018-2020 trucks. A 2021 has a different A-pillar and grab handle and needs a 14th-generation mount.
- Think about adding sensors later. Edge's EAS accessories, including an EGT kit and a 0-100 PSI pressure sensor, are in the Accessories section of this menu.
What we carry
The monitor here is the Edge Products Insight CTS3, part number 84130-3, sold as a universal OBD-II monitoring display. It reads data and shows it; it does not reprogram the engine. Other parts for this truck are on the Power Stroke hub.
Fitment notes
The 3.0L Power Stroke was sold only in the F-150, 2018-2021, never in a Super Duty. The Insight CTS3 is sold as a universal OBD-II unit, so the monitor itself isn't tied to the 13th- or 14th-generation cab, but confirm your year with the fitment checker on the product page. Where you mount it is the part that changes between 2020 and 2021.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Edge Insight CTS3 change my truck's programming?
No. The Insight CTS3 is sold as a monitoring display. It reads data from the OBD-II port and shows it on screen, and your engine calibration and emissions equipment stay stock.
Will the Insight CTS3 work on a 2021 F-150 diesel?
It's sold as a universal OBD-II monitor, and the 2021 diesel is an OBD-II CAN-bus truck like the 2018-2020 models. Confirm with the fitment checker on the product page. Mounting is the year-specific part: a 2021 needs a mount built for the 14th-generation A-pillar.
Can I leave the monitor plugged in all the time?
If the truck sits for days at a time, pull it. Some owners report that a device left in the OBD port keeps the truck's modules from going to sleep, which runs down the AGM battery and sets off a warning from the Battery Management System.
