Headlights on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

Ford's headlamp lineup shifted inside this three-year run. The 2017 trucks came standard with a dual-beam jewel-effect halogen lamp, while the 2019 XL wore a quad-beam jewel-effect halogen lamp. Quad-beam LED headlamps were the upper-trim lamp: standard on Platinum, standard on Limited by 2019, and available on Lariat and King Ranch through option packages. Upper trims could also add automatic high beams.

What wears out

Ford's 2017-2019 headlamps have no documented pattern failure. What sends owners shopping is age and damage: a halogen beam that's dimmer than they'd like, a lens that has gone hazy or let moisture in, or a lamp lost to collision damage. When the old assembly has to come out anyway, it makes sense to put a projector housing in its place.

Nova-Series vs. Pro-Series

Both headlight lines here are AlphaRex projector assemblies that replace the complete factory housing. The Nova-Series are LED projector headlights in gloss black (880100), chrome (880101) and matte black (880102). The Pro-Series are projector headlights in chrome (880107), jet black (880108) and black (880106). Finish is mostly about matching the truck: the chrome housings suit a truck with the Chrome package or a chrome grille, while the black finishes suit a darker look.

What we carry

Everything in this grid comes from AlphaRex: the Nova-Series and Pro-Series headlights above, plus Pro-Series LED tail lights in jet black (657010) and red smoked (657020) for owners who want the rear to match the front. If you're working on the rest of the truck, our Power Stroke parts hub is the place to start.

Fitment notes

Stay inside the 2017-2019 group. Ford restyled the headlamps for the 2020 refresh, so later lamps are a different part. Order the housing variant built for your factory lamp type, halogen or LED, because the connectors and the lighting control module differ between them. Verify by VIN when in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AlphaRex Nova-Series and Pro-Series headlights?

In this collection, the Nova-Series headlights are LED projector assemblies in gloss black, chrome and matte black, and the Pro-Series headlights are projector assemblies in chrome, jet black and black. Both replace the full housing. Check each product page for the factory lamp type it is built for.

Can I put LED headlights on a halogen 2017-2019 Super Duty?

Yes. Halogen-to-LED is a direct housing-swap category on these trucks. The key is buying the housing built for a factory-halogen truck, since halogen and LED trucks use different connectors and lighting control modules.

Which trims came with LED headlights from Ford?

Platinum had quad-beam LED headlamps standard, and the 2019 Limited did too. On Lariat and King Ranch, LED lamps came with option packages, the Ultimate packages by 2019, while the 2019 Lariat Sport package was halogen only. Trucks without those packages, the XL included, came with halogen.
