2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Downpipes

Downpipe parts for the 2017-2019 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke. On this engine the downpipe is the run from the valley-mounted turbo back to the DOC, the first piece of the factory aftertreatment. This page carries replacement downpipes and the MAHLE V-band clamps that hold the joints together, in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch sizes.

The downpipe on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

The 6.7L Powerstroke mounts its turbo in the valley between the cylinder banks. Pickups use a Garrett GT3788V variable-geometry turbo, and chassis cabs use a ball-bearing Garrett GT3582V. Exhaust leaves the turbo through the downpipe and heads back to the DOC, which Ford places closest to the engine. From there it passes through the SCR catalyst, where DEF is injected, and then the silicon-carbide DPF. That makes the downpipe the link between the turbo and all of the aftertreatment.

Clamps and replacement pipes

The downpipe joints use V-band clamps. MAHLE lists its turbocharger downpipe V-band clamps in 2.5-inch (B33485, listed for 2011-2022) and 3.5-inch (B33487, listed for 2015-2022). Any time the turbo or the downpipe comes off, these are the clamps you're dealing with, so match the size to the joint in front of you. For the pipe itself, SPE Motorsport's S100371 is a two-piece downpipe listed for 2011-2019, and No Limit Fabrication makes a stainless downpipe listed for 2015-2019.

Keeping it compliant

On this platform the emissions-compliant performance exhaust starts at the DPF outlet. If you're after more flow or a different sound, a DPF-back system is the place to start. If you're replacing a downpipe, read each product page for its fitment and emissions certification details before you order.

What we carry

Mahle supplies the 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch turbo downpipe V-band clamps. SPE Motorsport offers the S100371 two-piece downpipe, and No Limit Fabrication offers a stainless downpipe for 2015-2019 trucks. For DPF-back systems and the rest of the hardware, browse the exhaust category.

Fitment notes

Chassis cabs route their exhaust differently from pickups and need cab-chassis-specific parts. They also run a different turbo, the GT3582V, so F-350, F-450 and F-550 chassis-cab owners should confirm fitment before ordering anything that bolts to the turbo. The clamps cover different year ranges, and the No Limit downpipe starts at 2015. Verify by VIN when in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

What does the downpipe connect to on a 2017-2019 6.7L?

It runs from the outlet of the valley-mounted turbo back to the DOC, the diesel oxidation catalyst closest to the engine. From there, exhaust passes through the SCR catalyst and the DPF before it reaches the tailpipe.

Which V-band clamp do I need?

MAHLE lists a 2.5-inch clamp (B33485) for 2011-2022 and a 3.5-inch clamp (B33487) for 2015-2022 6.7L trucks. Both are turbocharger downpipe clamps, so measure or match the clamp you're replacing. If you're not sure which joint takes which, call the shop and we'll sort it out with you.

Will these parts fit a chassis cab?

Not automatically. Chassis cabs route their exhaust differently, need cab-chassis-specific parts and use a GT3582V turbo instead of the pickup's GT3788V. Check the product title and the fitment checker for cab-and-chassis coverage, or call us with your VIN.
