Call or Text (352) 722-52956R140 parts for the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
The 6R140 is the only transmission behind the 6.7L Powerstroke in these years. Ford rates it for 1,400 lb-ft of converter-multiplied input, and on 2011-2019 trucks its oil cooler sits on the secondary cooling loop, the low-temperature circuit shared with the charge-air cooler and fuel cooler. This page collects the parts that sit around and inside that transmission: coolers, controls, internals, lines and wiring.
What we carry
- Coolers: the Mishimoto MMTC-F2D-11SL direct-fit cooler for 2011-2016, several Mishimoto universal coolers, the MMOC-F heavy-duty cooler with fan, and the MMTC-U transmission/power steering cooler. BD Diesel adds Xtruded auxiliary and double-stacked coolers and a universal electric cooler fan.
- Controls: the BD Diesel 6R140 pressure controller, its LED kit and the 6R140 pressure enhancer solenoid, plus the ATS Diesel Performance 6R140 Co-Pilot Tow Edition.
- Internals: BD Diesel interlocking pressure plate kits in full and partial versions, the ATS billet intermediate shaft, and the SPE Motorsport 6R140 solenoid body.
- Lines, covers and wiring: the SPE Motorsport transmission line kit and rear cover, a MAHLE transfer case gasket, and an Alliant Power two-wire pigtail.
How to choose
A stock truck that tows should look at cooling first. A truck with compliant tuning should look at the controls and internals. For repair work, the solenoid body, line kit and pigtail are here. Most parts are listed for 2011-2019, but the Mishimoto direct-fit cooler and the BD Diesel full pressure plate kit are listed for 2011-2016. Verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an auxiliary transmission cooler on my 2015-2016 F-350?
If the truck works hard, it is the first upgrade on this page to look at. The factory cooler sits on the secondary cooling loop, and auxiliary coolers from BD Diesel and Mishimoto add cooling capacity on top of it. Ford's 50,000-mile severe service interval still applies to towing trucks either way.
Does the MAHLE transfer case gasket apply to a 2WD truck?
No. Only 4x4 trucks have a transfer case. On a 4x4, the transfer case takes its own 1.9 to 2.0 quart fill on a 150,000-mile normal or 60,000-mile severe interval, so it is worth servicing while the truck is on the lift.
