Every 2015-2016 Super Duty pickup carries its rear axle on leaf springs with 1.38-inch gas shocks. A rear stabilizer bar is standard on dual-rear-wheel trucks and optional on single-rear-wheel trucks. The axle itself is a Sterling 10.5-inch on the F-250 and single-rear-wheel F-350 and a Dana 80 on the F-350 dually. Feeding that axle, the 2015-2016 calibration of the 6.7L Powerstroke makes 440 hp and 860 lb-ft, with peak torque arriving at just 1,600 rpm. A traction bar is a fixed link from a bracket at the axle forward to a mount on the frame. Its job is to keep the axle housing located under load, so the leaf springs carry the weight and the bar handles the twist.
Bolt-on kit or build your own
A complete kit is the simple route: bars, brackets and hardware in one order, sized for your truck. Universal bars make sense when you want to set the mounting points yourself or you are replacing a bar on a setup you already run. Bushings and heim joints are sold separately too, so you can service a bar instead of replacing the whole thing.

Fitment notes
Bed length picks the BDS kit. These pickups came with a 6.75-foot or 8-foot box, and the Recoil kit is split short bed and long bed, both listed for 4WD. The WCFab 68-inch kit spans 2011-2024 6.7L trucks while the BDS kits stop at 2016, so the range on the listing is what counts. Know whether you run single or dual rear wheels, too. Frequently asked questions
Which BDS Recoil kit fits a 2016 F-250 crew cab short bed?
The short-bed 4WD version. BDS sells the Recoil kit in a short-bed 4WD version and a long-bed 4WD version, and both list 2016 trucks. On these pickups the short box is 6.75 feet and the long box is 8 feet. If your truck is 4x2, check the listing or call before ordering.
Can I replace the bushings and heims without buying a new bar?
Yes. WCFab sells its WCF207-26 traction bar bushing and heim set on its own, and the WCF100842 bracket and hardware kit is also available separately. Match the set to the bar you run; the product page lists what it fits.
