2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Intake Horns

This page covers intake air horn and high-flow intake kits for the 2015-2016 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke. Know this going in: the 6.7L feeds its turbo straight from the airbox tube, and there is no documented factory restriction in this part of the system, so these are build-level parts, not a stock repair.

Intake air horns on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

The 6.7L Powerstroke uses a reverse-flow layout: intake ports on the outside of the aluminum heads, turbo in the valley. Air runs from the factory airbox tube directly to the turbo, gets compressed, passes through the hot-side tube into the air-to-water charge-air cooler in the valley, and returns through the cold-side tube to the intake. The kits on this page work on the intake side of that path, with intake piping and intake manifold hardware from SPE Motorsport.

What fails and why

This area has no documented factory restriction on 2015-2016 trucks. The documented weak spot in the boost path sits elsewhere: the plastic hot-side and cold-side tubes, which crack or pull loose with heat cycles and age. That shows up as a whistling leak, sudden power loss and codes like P0299, P1247 or P0402. If your truck still runs the factory plastic tubes, fix those before you spend on a build part.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

For a stock or lightly modified truck there is no repair reason to replace this hardware. These kits make sense when you are already into a larger build, with new boost tubes, an intake, an intercooler kit or other work that has the intake side apart. SPE names its manifold kit OE+. Read the listing for exactly what it replaces before you plan the job, so the parts and the labor line up.

What we carry

This collection centers on SPE Motorsport: the SPE intake piping kit, listed for 2011-2026 6.7L trucks, and the S100397 OE+ performance intake manifold kit, listed for 2011-2025. Both are catalogued as high-flow kits. For filters, cold air intakes and the rest of the front of the intake path, see our intakes collection.

Fitment notes

The SPE kits here list ranges that include 2015 and 2016, but listing years are not the whole story. Chassis cab trucks run a different turbo (Garrett AVNT3276V) than F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups, and 2017 and newer trucks changed many engine-bay parts. If your truck is registered where emissions equipment is inspected, look for a CARB EO number on the product page; an EO is the proof that a part is emissions-legal in all 50 states. Verify by VIN when in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

Does my 2015 F-250 need an aftermarket air horn?

Not for a repair. The 6.7L feeds the turbo directly from the airbox tube, and there is no documented factory restriction in this area on 2015-2016 trucks. Treat these kits as part of a larger build.

How do the SPE intake piping kit and the OE+ manifold kit differ?

One is an intake piping kit and the other is the S100397 OE+ performance intake manifold kit. They cover different parts of the intake side, so read each listing for exactly which factory pieces it replaces before you order.

What should I fix before I buy one of these?

The factory plastic boost tubes. On 2011-2016 trucks the cold-side tube cracks and the hot-side tube can come off the turbo outlet. Aluminum pipe kits from S&B and Mishimoto replace them, and you will find those in our 2015-2016 intercooler and piping collection.
