Call or Text (352) 722-5295Tools for the 2011-2014 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
The 6.7L Power Stroke has a layout of its own. The aluminum heads are reverse-flow, so the exhaust ports face the engine valley, where the GT32 SST turbo sits. Fuel runs through a Bosch high-pressure common-rail system with piezo injectors, and injector replacement calls for special tools plus programming each injector's IQA code with a scan tool; the high-pressure lines are single-use. Cooling is split into two separate loops, each with its own radiator, thermostat and degas bottle. Up front, 4x4 trucks run a Dana Super 60 solid axle on coil springs, located by radius arms and a track bar. The tools on this page are matched to that layout.
Where the right tool matters
Tools are not wear parts, so this section is about the jobs they make easier. Charge-air leaks and coolant problems get chased down with a smoke or pressure test of the charge-air system and a pressure test of each coolant loop; that is how experienced techs narrow a problem down before buying parts. The front end is the other big job. Wear in the track bar ball joint and bushings is the primary cause of death wobble and front-end shimmy on 2005-2016 4x4 Super Dutys, and it comes back if only the steering stabilizer gets replaced. The track bar, radius-arm bushings, ball joints, tie-rod ends and sway-bar end links are all wear parts on this truck, and any radius arm or tie-rod job ends with an alignment.
Specialty tools vs. general shop gear
Buy the platform-specific pieces first. The 93 mm oil filter socket, the 6.7L compressor inlet adapter for the boost tester and the track bar bushing tools are made for this truck family. General gear comes next: thread chasers for cleaning threads before reassembly, quick-disconnect tools for line fittings, a right-angle grease gun adapter for hard-to-reach grease fittings, an air line cutter for air-spring work, and a solid bench to build on. If your truck now runs an aftermarket S300, S400 or S500-frame turbo, buy the inlet adapter made for those frames instead of the stock-turbo version.
What we carry
Calibrated Power Solutions supplies the Stealth Boost Tester with HD regulator, the 1102F011 compressor inlet adapter for 2011-2024 6.7L Powerstroke trucks, and an inlet adapter for S300, S400, S400R and S500 turbos. Pacific Performance Engineering makes the 114000759 93 mm billet aluminum engine oil filter socket. SPE Motorsport offers the S200115 track bar bushing removal tool and the S200116 bushing and removal tool kit for 2005-2025 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L PowerStroke trucks. XDP covers thread cleaning chasers in M8x1.25, M12x1.5, M12x1.75 and M16x2.0. Merchant Automotive has the 10514 right-angle grease gun adapter and the 37000 quick disconnect tool kit, Air Lift has the 10530 air line hose cutter, and S&B has a flexible silicone tool tray. For the shop floor, WCFab builds modular steel work benches in 32 x 48, 32 x 72 and 32 x 90 in sizes.
Fitment notes
Read each listing, because several of these tools cover more than one year range. The PPE socket is listed for 2011-2026 6.7L Power Stroke and 2020-2025 6.6L Duramax engines. The SPE track bar tools span 2005-2025 Power Stroke trucks; the 2005-2016 4x4 front ends share the same Super 60 and radius-arm design. Track bar tools apply to the 4x4 solid-axle front end, since 4x2 F-250 and F-350 models use Twin-I-Beam front suspension instead. The boost tester inlet adapter you need depends on the turbo on the truck now. Chassis cab F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks used a different Garrett turbo than the pickups, so confirm the adapter against your turbo before you order.
Frequently asked questions
What does a boost tester do on a 6.7L Powerstroke?
It pressurizes the charge-air side of the engine through the turbo's compressor inlet, with the HD regulator controlling the pressure, so leaks in the pipes, boots and intercooler show up with the engine off. Testing the charge-air system this way is one of the diagnostic steps techs rely on for this engine. On a stock 2011-2014 pickup, use the 1102F011 adapter made for the 6.7L inlet.
Do I need special tools to replace injectors on a 2011-2014 6.7L?
Yes. Injector replacement on this engine requires special tools, and each new injector's IQA code has to be programmed into the PCM with a scan tool. The high-pressure lines are single-use, so plan on new ones. If your scan tool cannot program IQA codes, leave the job to a shop that can; we install what we sell.
Why buy a dedicated track bar bushing tool?
Track bar ball joint and bushing wear is the main cause of death wobble on 2005-2016 4x4 Super Dutys, which makes it one of the front-end jobs worth tooling up for. SPE's S200115 removal tool and S200116 kit are made for 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L PowerStroke trucks. Fix the joint itself rather than masking the shake with a new steering stabilizer, and align the truck after any radius arm or tie-rod work.
Which inlet adapter do I need if I changed turbos?
Match the adapter to the turbo on the truck. The Calibrated Power Solutions 1102F011 fits the 2011-2024 6.7L Powerstroke compressor inlet, and a separate adapter covers S300, S400, S400R and S500 turbos. Both are made for the Stealth Boost Tester HD regulator.
