Fitment

This bench does not bolt to a truck, so fitment here means floor space and working height. The top measures 90 inches wide by 32 inches deep. Height ranges from 34 inches (2 ft. 10 in.) to 46 inches (3 ft. 10 in.) depending on the leg and foot/caster options selected. The 11 gauge steel legs come in 34 or 40-inch heights. Leveling pads give an additional 1.5 inches of height adjustment, and the casters add 5.5 inches of overall work surface height. Measure the bay or wall where it will live, leave room to walk around it, and call us if you are not sure which height suits the work you do.

Why this part

Diesel work eats bench space. Teardowns, parts staging and assembly all need a long, solid surface you can load up and leave loaded. WCFab builds this bench with a fully gusseted top and shelf that use interlocking ribbed construction for rigidity and support. The top and shelf are MIG welded, with TIG welding on stainless steel tops. The design balances strength and durability against overall weight, so the bench still works as a rolling workstation on the optional casters.

How tough is it? WCFab rates it for 3,000 lb max capacity (evenly distributed) on the optional leveling feet, or 1,500 lbs (evenly distributed) when fitted with the full swivel or combination swivel and solid caster options. Each leg foot is TIG welded and comes pre-drilled to accept your choice of:

• Ready to be bolted down directly to your shop floor to ensure a solid foundation for your project

Installation notes

The bench requires assembly. The storage shelf mounts at an adjustable height: the legs give three levels of coarse adjustment in 5-inch increments, and you can fine-tune that by an additional 1.25 inches using the adjustment points on the shelf. Set the shelf height before you load it.

If your floor is uneven, the leveling pads give corner-to-corner adjustment. If the bench will stay put, the pre-drilled feet are ready to be bolted down directly to your shop floor. If you want it mobile, use the caster option and keep in mind the rating drops to 1,500 lbs evenly distributed on casters.

Note: raw steel finish option components must receive additional finishing and preventative maintenance to help protect the parts from corrosion. If you pick raw carbon steel so you can add tool mounts or other custom work first, plan to finish it once that work is done.
