The 6.7L Powerstroke in these trucks pairs a Garrett GT32 SST DualBoost turbo with a Bosch CP4.2 high-pressure pump, the 6R140 six-speed automatic and a DPF and SCR aftertreatment system. The parts that cost real money when they fail, the turbo, the CP4.2, the transmission when it runs hot, and the regeneration system, tend to give warning in the data before you hear anything. The Insight CTS3 puts EGT, transmission temperature, boost and fuel rail pressure on one screen, reads trouble codes, and logs data so you can review a tow after the fact.
Monitor now, tuner later
The Insight is a monitor only, and that is why it needs no CARB EO. Edge also lets you upgrade an Insight to an Evolution tuner through software. If you take that step, the unit is now a tuner and the CARB EO rules for tuning apply, so check the EO status for your exact truck before you upgrade. Left as a monitor, it changes nothing in the calibration.

Fitment notes
As a universal OBD-II unit, the CTS3 is not tied to cab style, bed length or trim, from an XL work truck to a Platinum. Edge includes a windshield bracket with the CTS3; if you want a different location, look at the No Limit Fabrication Edge Clean Mount, listed for 2013-2019 trucks. If you run a 2011-2012 truck, remember the factory EGT sensors on those years had a failure history, so adding an Edge EAS EGT probe gives the screen an independent reading.

Is the Insight CTS3 a tuner?
Not as sold. The 84130-3 is a monitor that reads data, which is why Edge says it needs no CARB EO. It can be upgraded to an Edge Evolution tuner by software, and at that point the CARB EO rules for tuning apply.
What readings matter most on a 2011-2014 6.7L?
Watch the readings tied to this engine's expensive parts: boost for the GT32 SST turbo, fuel rail pressure for the CP4.2 system, transmission temperature for the 6R140, and EGT. The CTS3 shows all four and logs them. Codes show up on the same screen.
Will the Insight CTS3 work on my 2011 F-250 XL?
It is sold as a universal OBD-II monitor and plugs into the diagnostic port, so trim level does not change fitment. Edge includes a windshield bracket that fits 2011-2016 trucks, so you can mount it on day one.
