This is the hardware side of custom tuning on the 6.4L Powerstroke. The MPVI4 connects a laptop to the truck's diagnostic port so HP Tuners software can read, log and write calibrations. The SPE Motorsport switch bracket gives a 5-position switch a fixed mounting spot instead of leaving it loose in the cab, and it's listed for 1999-2022 7.3L, 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L Powerstroke trucks.
Plan the hardware around the engine
Buying tuning hardware is the easy part. The 6.4L's head bolts stretch around 600 rwhp, and aggressive fueling speeds up piston cracking and torque converter failure, so any tune should be paired with head studs, a built converter and a monitor for EGT and transmission temperature. Confirm HP Tuners' current coverage for your truck's calibration before you buy the interface. Verify EO coverage for the 2008-2010 6.4L for any tune you plan to load. For anything else, verify by VIN with the fitment checker or a call to the shop.

Does the SPE switch bracket fit a 6.4L?
Yes. It's listed for 1999-2022 7.3L, 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L Powerstroke trucks, which takes in 2008-2010 6.4L F-250s and F-350s. It's only useful if your tuning setup uses a 5-position switch.
What else do I need to use the MPVI4?
A laptop running HP Tuners software and a calibration for your truck. On a road-registered truck, that calibration should carry a CARB EO number covering the 2008-2010 6.4L. Call the shop if you want help checking a tune before it goes on.
